CONTEXT

The IECD (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement) is an international solidarity organization created in 1988 which implements socio-economic development projects in partnership with local institutions. The IECD works in the areas of training and professional integration, support for very small businesses and access to education for the most vulnerable people. The IECD has been present in Lebanon since 1988 and has been carrying out projects there since 2007.

Semeurs d’Avenir (SDA), structure created in 2010, is the operational partner of the IECD. As part of its partnership with IECD, SDA implements projects in the field of entrepreneurship, education, training, and professional integration.

TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION PROJECTS

Short vocational training

The short vocational training program (FC) is implemented in Tripoli since 2013 and all over Lebanon since 2017. It aims to bring professional skills to young Lebanese and refugees through short-term (up to 4 months) vocational training programs targeting jobs with higher employment opportunities on the local labour market (electricity, AC maintenance, care for the elderly and sick, childcare, manicure pedicure, catering services, etc.). The program also includes life skills sessions and support for professional integration (internship, individual follow up towards imployment)

To support the short training program, IECD and SDA are recruiting a pedagogical referent to guarantee the quality of the technical training curricula as well as the follow up of the trainers.

MISSIONS

Your mission will be to support the short training program team in implementing their educational projects through the following activities:

1.  Support for the implementation of high-quality trainings

• Develop -for the new specializations identified-, and update when needed -for the already existing courses (12 existing curricula) all the reference documents: work situation analysis reports, trade-skills reference systems, occupational profile, training curricula, certification reference systems.

• Collaborate with external technical experts

• Support the implementation of the trainings from their deployment to the evaluation sessions.

• Ensure the implementation of the monitoring and evaluation system for the trainings provided.

2. Strengthen the quality of the professional practices of the trainers

• Facilitate the pedagogical training of trainers,

• Develop or identify relevant teaching materials

• Support the mobilization and identification of external expertise.

3. Animation of the pedagogical department

• Participate in the harmonization of the pedagogical practices and the capitalization of know-how in vocational training.

PROFILE

Education: Higher education in educational sciences: education, teaching and learning or qualification deemed equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in curriculum development, renovation of training courses
• Proven experience in educational and pedagogical engineering
• Experience in vocational training is desirable
• Experience in the competency-based approach will be an asset

• Training engineering and educational engineering
• Ability to support, federate and train multicultural teams
• Synthetic, organizational skills
• Excellent oral and writing skills in Arabic mandatory, in French and / or English

POSITION CONDITIONS

Status: One year contract renewable

Under the responsibility of: Livelihood program manager

Close collaboration with the Short Formations program team in Lebanon and the pedagogical department in Lebanon and Paris

Supervision of the pedagogical referent in Lebanon.

Position date: As soon as possible

Location: Beirut, Lebanon, with frequent trips throughout the country.

Remuneration: to be determined according to profile
