The project manager will coordinate labor market assessment study, partners TVET schools’ needs assessment, vocational training and soft skills curricula development, schools administrative and technical capacity building, training of trainers and monitor implementation of the trainings in partnership with the schools in addition to the following responsibilities:
1 / Project management
• Identify and plan activities according to the overall and specific objectives of the projects
Monitor & evaluate the implementation of the project
• Financial management (carry out rigorous monitoring of expenses; ensure compliance with purchasing procedures; organize audit of expenses; etc.)
2 / Management of a team (2 project officers)
• Organize the tasks of the team members according to the objectives of the projects
• Support team members in complex tasks and in their skills development
3 / Management of partnership relations
• Maintain good relations with partners: implementing partner (Chemonics), selected TVET schools; General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education; financial partners; etc.
• Represent IECD in external meetings with stakeholders
4 / Reporting
• Write internal reports to management and teams
• Prepare financial reports
• Write technical reports for financial partners
PROFILE
Education: Master’s degree in business, development, economics/management, or education science
Experience required: 5 years of experience, including at least 3 in project management, in NGOs in the development sector
Knowledge of the education and vocational training system in Lebanon is a plus.
- Proven experience in project management is required
- Driver’s License is required
Competencies:
- Strong experience in project management
- Excellent management of MS Office applications (especially Excel for financial management)
- Excellent oral and drafting skills in English and Arabic. French is plus.
- Knowledge of engineering (preferably industrial maintenance) or pedagogy are assets
- Knowledge of the Technical and Vocational training system in Lebanon is a plus.
- Capacity to identify, analyze and synthesize information
- Capacity to manage and prioritize objectives
- Capacity to communicate and to manage intercultural relations
