Building Accessibility Consultant

The Building Accessibility consultant will perform accessibility checks on companies, providing valuable feedback and overseeing accessibility improvement initiatives. Their role will involve evaluating businesses' accessibility features, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, and offering guidance for creating inclusive environments.

 

Responsibilities and main duties: 

  • Perform comprehensive accessibility checks on companies, evaluating their physical spaces, digital platforms, and practices.
  • Provide detailed feedback and recommendations on areas of improvement to enhance accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
  • Stay updated on the latest accessibility guidelines, standards, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to assessments and recommendations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including business owners, managers, and employees, to raise awareness and promote a culture of inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Prepare reports outlining the accessibility findings, recommendations, and progress for approval and documentation purposes.

 

Job qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Building Accessibility specialist or a similar relevant position.
  • Proficiency in conducting accessibility checks, both for physical spaces, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English languages, enabling effective communication with businesses and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines, standards (such as WCAG), and relevant regulations.
  • Understanding of diverse disabilities and their impact on accessibility requirements.
