Detention Monitoring Program Manager

Job Description

  • Bachelors degree in sociology, social work, management or related fields
  • At least 7 years experience in planning, management and coordination  national level programs
  • Minimum 5 years work and practical experience in protection and child protection related activities and social work.
  • Computer, Microsoft office and English language skills is a must
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of UNHCR's mandate, programs and activities as well as values and principles.
  • Excellent reporting skills in protection and monitoring including detection of cases for referrals for protection, legal or health assistance
  • Strong personality and ability to create networks and establish relations within the prisons and detention sector in designated areas is essential
  • Knowledge about detention legal procedures is an added value but not a must
  • Acquisition of a driving license and clean criminal record is a must  

 

Job Qualifications

  • Overall management of project, project staff and project financial control
  • Report on all aspects of the program to the upper management and suggest mechanisms and approaches
  • Lead on the relation with partner agency or agencies and work on establishing good relation and coordination mechanism
  • Create and support a coordination mechanism with ISF on the central and facilities’ level
  • Oversees overall activities under different components of the program and makes sure objectives and results are met on a timely manner  
  • Coordinate among project teams and units and makes sure activities and schedules are implemented as planned
  • Create solutions and mitigation plans for problems, obstacles or bad performance on a group or individual level
  • Supervises and follows on all levels or reporting and produce the final reporting to be submitted to the partner agency
  • Attends when needed related working groups and interagency meetings on the central level and delegates on the regions level
