Mental Health PSS Facilitator

 

The Psychosocial Support Facilitator will have the knowledge and practical skills to carry out psychosocial support activities with vulnerable beneficaries.

The PSS facilitator will implement the activities in a manner that leaves a considerable positive impact the targeted beneficiaries and promote their wellbeing.

Job Description:

  • Provide inclusive age- and gender-appropriate focused psychosocial support (PSS) to vulnerable beneficiaries.
  • Provide age- and gender-appropriate awareness-raising key messages on critical SGBV and CP risks, SRHR, available services and gender equality & inclusion, provided to vulnerable beneficiaries
  • Full coordination with senior management to ensure proper implementation of the project.
  • Plan, organize and run activities with beneficiaries while facilitate and encourage their participation
  • Ensure activities run in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
  • Ensure that all beneficiaries are involved in the activities being implemented
  • Deal with difficult behaviors (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion) and understand the reason behind the behavior to positively communicate with the situation.
  • Ensure that the beneficiaries under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activities
  • Collect data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are duly filled
  • Identify key protection issues or threats affecting the beneficiaries and raise them to the senior case manager
  • Refer protection and GBV cases to the case worker(s) of the project
  • Ensure all project means such as attendance sheets evaluation documents… are in filled in neatly and clearly and are always done in a timely manner.
  • Report back to senior staff if requested in a timely manner

 

Professional Standards:

  • All recruited staff are required to adhere to SHEILDs Personnel PSEA policy and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, code of ethics, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Psychology, social work…)
  • Previous experience in developing structured/focused PSS sessions to children, youth, adolescents and caregivers.
  • Good knowledge in Child Protection and Gender Based Violence
  • Able to deal with vulnerable adolescents from different backgrounds
  • Quality, monitoring and reporting

  • English and Arabic (written, read and spoken - not mandatory)
