Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

General Duties:

The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (M&E Specialist) or M&E team will be providing support in monitoring and evaluating ongoing activities within the NGO projects. She/he will be responsible for overall M&E and learning needs of the projects and will come up with findings based on real data to show performance of the different components of the projects. The full-time Monitoring and Evaluation specialist or team reports directly to the Director and will work together with the project director and staff to:

  • Develop an M&E database for the projects
  • Update the project performance monitoring plan and supervise regular data collection for all projects
  • Record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in the database in a safe and accessible way
  • Coordinate in collecting data against project indicators, including data collection on cross cutting issues such as gender, youth, Syrian refugees, etc.
  • Analyze and discuss findings based on regular monitoring data
  • Provide technical support on M&E and evidence-based recommendations to the relevant component managers and partners and support the communication specialist with data to be highlighted in success stories and social media postings.
  • Participate actively in the budgeting process
  • Support in developing the periodical reports to donors.

 

Provide the project director with a regular detailed report Expected deliverables in close coordination with the Director and other staff, the M&E specialist or team will:

  • Develop and periodically revise the Monitoring and Evaluation plans of the projects
  • Develop clear Monitoring and Evaluation procedures and forms for the projects
  • Develop regular reports including all data gathered to submit to Project Director
  • Develop on a periodical basis the tracking table of indicators
  • Support in the development of periodical reports to donor

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Sociology, Social Development, Development, Economics or Performance Management or another relevant field.
  • At least three years of experience working in M&E
  • Cultural Sensitivity
  • Good communication and facilitation skills
  • Self-management, mission oriented, teamwork
  • English and Arabic (written, read, and spoken)
  • Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Clean criminal record is a MUST
