SHEILD is looking for a Super Field Worker

Generic Duties:

The super field worker position will be developed to respond to all the field protection related referrals and cases in the 7 districts of the South.

Team’s responsibilities will comprise multi-dimensional/Sectorial responses in regard with shelter, WASH and core relief items referral and cases. This multifunctional team will be supporting UNHCR shelter/WASH unit to reach out PoCs to:

  • Assess and validate their shelter and socio-economic conditions.
  • Ensure relocations as per the proper pathway and guidelines agreed with UNHCR adhering to the protection standards and mainstreaming GBV, PWSM and CP standard operational procedures in shelter response.
  • Follow up on relocated cases on a regular basis.
  • Manage eviction and intricate shelter/protection cases taking into account the need for CRIs in eviction cases.
  • Mitigate and resolve conflicts between refugees and other counterparts.
  • Support our PoCs dealing with WASH/shelter related issues through a light and soft component intervention and capacity building guidance to address imminent awareness raising.

On another hand, SHEILD field team will support UNHCR field unit at a community level to:

  • Monitor the small shelter units to confirm and report on availability
  • Building trusts and networks with local community to guarantee cooperation
  • Identify potential empty and occupied units for rehabilitation

UNHCR and SHEILD multifunctional team will be in close coordination in order to improve their new approach and refine their skills in this field through trainings, workshops and bilateral discussions to display challenges, lessons learnt and the way forward to achieve target.

 

 

 

 

 

Specific Duties:

 

  • Work as mobile/outreach team to identify, register and analyze beneficiaries’ specifics needs taking record of the vulnerabilities (i.e. community mobilization, field assessments, data analysis, report writing, etc.);
  • Develop a community approach to ensure a confidence in UNHCR process and project.
  • Organize (logistics and human resources) and conduct Hygiene Promotion campaigns; report on the conducted HP campaigns
  • Conduct monitoring survey and follow up visits after the completion of the HP campaigns.
  • Identify basic and specific needs and deliver appropriate items according to UNHCR and WASH Sector strategies.
  • Refer all cases identified internally to the working team.
  • Refer all cases identified externally in case no appropriate and immediate response to needs could be given by SHEILD
  • Share with the other team members the cases located outside of your area of intervention.
  • Compile data and submit high quality structured reports with as per given schedule.
  • Respect beneficiary confidentiality.
  • Respect and promote UNHCR Policies.
  • Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.
  • Provide hygiene awareness sessions to relocated HHs.
  • Do the post distribution monitoring.
  • Involve in the distribution of core relief items for vulnerable families referred by UNHCR.
  • The management of the warehouse could be his responsibilities.

 

 

Generic professional competencies:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in monitoring construction and managing contractors is highly desirable
  • Experience in community based approaches to construction
  • Familiarity with the minimum construction standards for SSB (eg., Shelter Sector Standards in Lebanon)
  • Strong organizational skills and able to coordinate and manage a diverse array of activities and stakeholders
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills and ability to work independently
  • Report writing skills and computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and Power point
  • Experience in conducting surveys, managing data and statistics is desirable
  • Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus
  • A previous experience with SHEILD is a plus
