Physical Education coach

SHiFT is a social innovation hub leading the transformation of post-conflict and/or marginalized zones towards peaceful and prosperous communities. It brings people together and bridges differences through building capacities, raising awareness, creating opportunities, promoting success models and mentoring. Within its partnership with UNICEF, SHiFT will be operating a short-term pilot project dedicated to protection mainstreaming across most vulnerable children in the area of Amerken, Bekkar, Jabal, Tebbane , mankoubin and, Mashrou3 el hariri in Tripoli. Throughout this intervention SHiFT is seeking the expertise of a Physical education / life coach to help facilitate a smooth implementation of the project activities.

 

SCOPE OF WORK: The physical education Life coach will help us through the implementation of development-oriented sports activities for most vulnerable adolescent boys and girls in the areas of Jabal, Mankoubin and Kobbeh including persons with special needs. The coach is expected to adapt a socio educational, recreational learning methods to promote sports and counseling programs.

Who this position reports to: Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Physical education/life coach:

  • Design sessions according to the project overall target, and work on a syllabus accordingly
  • Include problem solving techniques in trainings
  • Focus on how to use sports as a communication technique Coordinate logistics for field team throughout implementation of activities and planned events
  • Ensure child protection mainstreaming across activities
  • Ensure interactive sessions
  • Provide final report including lessons learnt, best practices and recommendation for follow up intervention
  • Monitor spending limits
  • Ensure adherence to the organization’s rules and regulations.
  • Communicate with various departments in the organization to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
  • Monitor safety and security situation ahead of implementation of field activities

Trainings and meetings

  • Participate in core skill building training and/or learning modules, as required

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Consolidate findings from weekly sessions, safety assessments and other activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to confidently manage participants of all ages with different backgrounds without discrimination
  • Flexibility, as the sessions needs to accommodate the preference of the participants taking into consideration the overall safety and health situation in the country
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect.
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Good communication skills.
  • Works well in a team, flexible, and able to handle pressure well and able to move in the field
  • Computer literacy preferred but not required.
  • Fluency in Arabic required. Basic ability to communicate in English is an added value.

  • Create and maintain a strong filing System
  • Handle paper work with complete efficiency, transparency and confidentiality if and when needed.

     

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Staff will work in the office with frequent travel to the field
