Job Summary
The Psychomotor Therapist is responsible for assessing and treating individuals with emotional, psychological, or physical conditions that affect their motor functions and overall movement. Using a combination of physical exercises, therapeutic techniques, and movement-based interventions. The psychomotor therapists help patients improve their coordination, body awareness, and emotional regulation.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Assessment and Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive needs, focusing on how these affect motor skills.
- Utilize standardized assessment tools, interviews, and observations to gather relevant information.
- Identify impairments in motor functions such as balance, coordination, and body awareness.
Therapy and Treatment
- Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate physical activities, sensory exercises, and motor coordination tasks to address patients’ needs.
- Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with beneficiaries to establish therapeutic goals and monitor progress throughout the treatment process.
- Educate patients and their families about the role of psychomotor therapy in promoting physical and emotional well-being.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals.
Referrals and Coordination
- Provide referrals for patients requiring additional services.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and caregivers to reinforce therapeutic techniques and encourage progress outside of sessions.
- Coordinate regularly with the CM program coordinator to discuss beneficiaries' progress, treatment options, and interventions.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate and confidential beneficiaries’ records, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with ethical standards.
- Prepare weekly and monthly plans and send them to the CM program coordinator.
General Duties
- Understands and adheres to the Shift Code of Conduct;
- Understands the roles of the components of Shift;
- Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times;
- Represents Shift in a professional manner at all times;
- Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers;
- Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the Organization.
- Degree in psychomotor therapy;
- License to practice from the order of psychomotor therapist in Lebanon;
- Strong understanding of human movement, motor development, and psychological factors influencing motor skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse populations;
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel);
- Fluency in English and in Arabic, French is a plus.

- Case Management Program Coordinator;
- Project Coordinator;
- Other relevant partners/stakeholders.
Conditions
- Depending on the referrals and on the schedule, the psychomotor therapist will cover 120 days all over the year for 80$ per working day;
- Willingness to work in Tripoli and in Wadi Khaled (Akkar).
