SKOUN is a Lebanese, non-profit, non-governmental organization and one of the first outpatient facilities that provide accessible treatment, education and protection for all people who use drugs while maintaining its values regarding inclusion, accessibility, integrity and dignity.

For 20 years, SKOUN has been caring for the most vulnerable populations in Lebanon and strives to ensure drug use and addiction are treated as primary health issues.

SKOUN aims to support the development of community-based substance use and mental health system in line with the National Mental Health Strategy and model of care, tackling gender barriers in service access and gender biases in service provision through offering quality and gender-sensitive services to women, men, boys, girls and gender non-conforming individuals living in Lebanon, particularly the most vulnerable groups and people at risk.

Tasks & Dutiestddd

  • Financial Oversight: Manage daily cash and check transactions, ensuring compliance with Skoun requirements regarding procedures, deadlines, and signatures.
  • Expense Monitoring: Track bills, vouchers, and invoices, providing accurate updates on costs and service contracts.
  • Petty Cash Administration: Oversee cash advances and transactions for petty cash boxes, ensuring accurate records and resolving discrepancies. Uphold cash control procedures with daily monitoring and weekly reconciliations.
  • Currency Exchange: Facilitate currency exchanges in line with local policies.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare monthly accounting reports, verify entries, and justify payments and receipts.
  • Accounting Management: Manage accounting software processes for project and capital allocations, ensuring accurate salary encoding and invoice checks.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Analyze cash box discrepancies and provide solutions.
  • Document Management: File accounting documents, prepare for audits, and organize document archiving.
  • Communication: Keep supervisors informed of challenges that arise.
  • Payment Preparation: Prepare payments through various methods and verify supplier account statements.
  • Invoice Verification: Confirm the validity of invoices, ensuring all approvals are in place.
  • Cost Evaluation: Monitor ongoing costs to provide insights into mission operations.
  • Compliance Verification: Ensure receipts meet Donors' standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Check the quality of accounting allocations and approvals.
  • Supportive Role: Assist the Finance Manager and Senior accountant with delegated tasks.
