Internship-Prevention Officer

Background: Skoun is a non-profit making, non-political and non-sectarian Lebanese organization created in 2001 and legally registered in 2003. Skoun's scope of work is focused on three main areas of interest: Treatment, Prevention and Advocacy. As part of its prevention work,Skoun educates young people and the community to prevent drug misuse and promote well-being by delivering the facts about the dangers of drugs and developing educational programs which equip adolescents with the skills needed to lead healthy and productive lives. Skoun has had an extensive experience in delivering prevention programs. Since 2003, our programs have been implemented in different private and public schools and univerities. These programs are based on drug education, peer to peer education and life skills.   Tasks: Research on evidence based drug prevention programs Supporting the prevention team in administrative tasks Working hours: The intern’s working hours will be agreed on after selection (an estimate of 10hrs/week). Competencies and values: Acquired knowledge in research Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Excellent Communication and Organizational skills Motivation and commitment Ability to work individually and within groups Upon completion of the internship, the intern will receive a certificate of completion alongside with a recommendation letter from the Prevention department.
