SKOUN is a Lebanese, non-profit, non-governmental organization and one of the first outpatient facilities that provide accessible treatment, education and protection for all people who use drugs while maintaining its values regarding inclusion, accessibility, integrity and dignity.
For 20 years, SKOUN has been caring for the most vulnerable populations in Lebanon and strives to ensure drug use and addiction are treated as primary health issues.
SKOUN aims to support the development of a community-based substance use and mental health system in line with the National Mental Health Strategy and model of care, tackling gender barriers in service access and gender biases in service provision through offering quality and gender-sensitive services to women, men, boys, girls and gender non-conforming individuals living in Lebanon, particularly the most vulnerable groups and people at risk.
For this position.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing medical assessments, administering tests, managing medication stock, case management and ensuring continuous medical follow-up for Skoun’s service users (SU), in coordination with the Treatment Team, in addition to participating in capacity building whenever needed
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Medical Assessments and Testing
- Conduct medical assessments for SUs, when required
- Administer and document urine tests
- Provide psychoeducation to SUs about prescribed medication, HIV, Hepatitis B and C
- Administer injections as needed
- Other tasks as needed, depending on workflow and the donor's request
2. Medication and Laboratory Follow-up
- Follow up on lab tests recommended by the psychiatrist/psychologists
- Ensure weekly OAT prescriptions are correctly filled and compliant with Ministry of Health protocols and open new files for OAT
- Monitor and report side effects from psychotropic medications in coordination with the psychiatrist
- Coordinate with the hospital pharmacist and report any medication shortages to the Head Nurse
3. File and Documentation Management
- Ensure that SU files are securely stored and accessible only to the Treatment Team
- Maintain proper custody of prescription pads and doctors' stamps
- Complete and fill all nursing forms and documentation as required
- Ensure to have updated forms and system notes
- Data entry upon request by the head Nurse, depending on the Donor’s requests
4. Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate between the psychiatrist, case manager, and psychologists
- Follow up on SU appointments and treatment plans
- Actively participate in clinical meetings and discussions
- Managing Infoline calls on a daily basis
5. Reporting and Meetings
- Submit weekly reports as required, “clinical meeting and other as needed”
- Report relevant data and updates to the Head Nurse and the clinical coordinator

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Technical Skills
- Experience in medical testing (urine, HIV, Hepatitis B and C)
