Office Manager & Logistics Coordinator

Social Media Exchange (SMEX) is recruiting an office manager and logistics coordinator to run our Beirut office and provide critical assistance in organizing trainings and events. This is an ideal early-career position for a highly organized fresh graduate who aspires to a career in digital media, advocacy, development, event organizing, and/or project management. As the office manager and logistics coordinator at SMEX, you will be responsible for working with the directors to create and maintain office systems and procedures—including correspondence, filing, procurement, light accounting—and for handling the logistical aspects of SMEX-organized events. You will also assistant the directors. This position demands attention to detail, a high degree of fluency with office technology, and diplomacy. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Key areas of responsibility Creating and maintaining office systems and workflows, including updating project files Trafficking inquiries to the appropriate people and handling correspondence with a wide range of vendors, agencies, embassies, and other organizations, etc.   Procurement for office needs and events Light bookkeeping that includes processing invoices and expenses Help identify and define strategic partnerships with local venues and Recruiting volunteers, rapporteurs for workshops and events Qualifications A university degree is preferred A high degree of digital media and information literacy, including familiarity with online collaboration tools, like wikis and Google docs, and a strong sense of visual design Strong writing and editing ability in Arabic and/or English Must be based in Lebanon and able to commit to 35+ hours/week Knowledge of development, human rights and/or digital rights issues a plus Other Essentials Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment You work well in a team and can pitch in where necessary You take initiative and responsibility and are open to direct feedback You value diversity of background, opinion, and approach You’re willing to experiment and reflect on lessons learned Native fluency in Arabic, written and spoken; fluency in English is also important Excellent references Interested candidates should email a motivation letter explaining your interest in working with SMEX and a one-page résumé, with your salary requirements, to jobs@smex.org with “OFFICE MANAGER & LOGISTICS COORDINATOR” in the subject line.
