Self Defense Trainer

Task Description: Consultant will serve as the Self
Defense Trainer project’s activity in Saida and Jezzine Areas. Specifically,
Consultant will complete the following tasks:        
•     

• The trainer must be an activist against violence against women.
• The trainer must have completed a certified course in “Self Defense.”The trainer must create comprehensive sessions with the number ofsessions, activities during the sessions and, objective of each activity. This should be shared with the Program management team.
• The trainer must be familiar with many self-defense schools of thought (Karate, Aikido and Jujitsu) 
• The trainer must be able to provide activities relevant to the GBV program and mission, such as self-defense against rape and/or sexual assault
• The trainer must prepare his courses with sensitivity towards customs of
• the beneficiaries (not ask anyone to remove their veil, and or touch any participant without their consent)
• The training will be focusing on:   
  • The concept and definition of , t
  • hreat and defense.
  • How to assess and analyze a situation
  • Physical and non-physical
  • techniques to manage and de-escalate a situation.
  • Basic self-defense to cover the minimum required for a trainer. 
  • Create awareness and how to transmit it on different levels.  
  • Case studies, exercises, and Q&As (using visual aid and presentation materials)

In addition to the training workshops, the Recreational Activities Trainer is
expected to write a comprehensive report after the completion of each training
cycle. The report template will be provided by the program team. This report
should encompass a detailed overview of the training conducted, participants'
engagement, key outcomes, and any recommendations for improvement.

Furthermore, the Recreational Activities Trainer should receive training in handling GBV
disclosure and safe referral before commencing their work.

Specific Duties:

1.    Conduct Self Defense sessions each session length is 1.5 hours.
