Soins Infirmiers et Development Communautaire (SIDC) is a local non-governmental not-for-profit Lebanese organization that was established in 1987 and officially registered 9/AD in 1992. SIDC envisions a Lebanese society in which all individuals, especially vulnerable populations, fulfill their right to health through their active participation in making informed choices, adopting and promoting healthy behaviors and realizing their potentials. SIDC commits to providing equitable access to healthcare and improve the quality of life of key populations in partnership with them through harm reduction and healthcare services, advocacy, networking, and capacity building for NGOs at the national and regional levels.

SIDC is seeking a short term co-coordinator to accelerate the implementation of the GF grant “Sustainability of Services for KPs in MENA” activities in Lebanon (2019-2021). The program is being  implemented by civil society organizations from Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and Tunisia and by regional networks and aims at increasing sustainability of quality HIV prevention, treatment and care services for KPs  that would accelerate progress on UNAIDS Fast-Track targets.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of SIDC’s Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Program Coordinator and the team, the co-coordinator will perform the following tasks: 

  • To ensure timely execution of the Global Fund grant activities according to action plans and within established budgets 
  • To coordinate, manage, prepare or organize all activities set in the program
  • To observe the progress of the program’s activities, and take appropriate actions with the support of the team members and under the supervision of the Executive Director
  • To coordinate all tasks related to the project with Sub-Sub Recipients, stakeholders, partners and different consultants with the set operational plans of the GF
  • To prepare the Terms of References (ToRs) for the facilitators and consultants
  • To Liaise with Global Fund PMU and ensure optimum information and to receive strategic feedback
  • To attend meetings organized by the donors in the presence of the team
  • To collect and compile technical data related to all activities implemented by Sub-Sub-Recipients
  • To assist in writing reports for the PR on a quarterly basis and upon completion of each activity  
  • To help in technical monitoring of the projects in close collaboration with the M&E officer and staffing plans to meet overall activities when needed
  • To suggest what works best for the project alert team and all partners for any action that  needs to be taken throughout the program implementation
  • To facilitate the work of the accountant by providing all necessary documents for the financial report

Qualifications and experience

The successful Program co-coordinator must be a self-directed individual with the following qualifications:
• At least a master’s degree in Public Health, Project Management, human rights, international development or equivalent education and experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively perform in the position.
• Three to five years professional experience in programs coordination with evidence of having undertaken similar assignments;
• Previous experience in the area of Non-Governmental sector;
• Experience in gender issues;
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and reporting skills, with knowledge of and experience in the application of policy and procedures standards;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, specifically the ability to deliver succinct and persuasive analysis.
• Offer great organizational skills and efficiency in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results
Personal specifications:
• Must be result-oriented, exhibiting high levels of enthusiasm, tact, diplomacy and integrity;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision;
