SIDC was established in 1987 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization. The organization works with the most marginalized and vulnerable groups of society to improve their health and social status, especially people living with HIV and drug users.
Under project entitled: “ImPOWER- A project to Educate, Engage and Empower Youth” in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health- the National Mental Health Programme- and in the support of UNICEF, SIDC is calling for a Technical consultant.
To provide support to the NMHP related to the below activity:
In line with the national mental health and substance use strategies for Lebanon, specifically the objective to study the implementation of life skills education programmes within schools, the activity is: To conduct a research study to evaluate the efficiency and feasibility of integrating a defined life skills education programme as part of the academic year programmes in two schools in Lebanon.
Tasks and Duties
Design research methodology and develop the study proposal
• Validate the study with the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) and conduct necessary edits required, including any potential amendment required from local ethics committee once proposal submitted for ethical approval.
• Implement the study:
o Conduct data collection (including key informant interviews and focus group discussions, etc.)
o Conduct the data analysis
o Development of a first report with data analysis and recommendations.
• Conduct a meeting with NMHP and MEHE to present the report and validate findings
Develop the final report with necessary edits following validation
Deliverables to be validated by the NMHP
• Study proposal with the designed data collection tools
• Transcripts from the interviews
• First report with data analysis, discussion and recommendations
• Final report
