Socio-Economic Lead Researcher

Job Description:
Research 
• Assist in conceptualization of the research proposal and the strategic plan
• Conduct and lead quantitative and qualitative research including: Literature review, research design, tool design, analysis and discussion
• Recommend and develop methodological approaches including statistical and qualitative approaches, analytical tools, and develop research questions
• Prepare quantitative analysis plans and write detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures
• Investigate, analyses, and interpret data using appropriate statistical techniques
• Provide clear written and verbal summary interpretations of statistical and qualitative analyses
• Critically evaluate data and information and develop appropriate conclusions
• Conduct focus groups and round tables with selected stakeholders
• Develop a draft policy recommendations based on research evidence
• Provide a clear guidance and support to the research assistant
• Revise the research document as per the comments and recommendations
• Prepare high quality presentations and present findings in a public event whenever requested
• Develop an expertise on new policy developments in key research areas
• Generate new ideas for fundable, policy-focused research projects
• Develop articles for publication

Management 
• Directly line manage researchers, research assistants and interns if any
• Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines 
• Organize project files, data, and documents
• Identify own development needs and seek new skills and knowledge 
• Undertake continuing professional development and participate in national and international workshops

Job Requirements
• Education degree in Economics, Sociology or other relevant field
• Master Degree is preferable
• At least 6-7 years working experience in economic and socioeconomic researches and policies
• Fluent in English & Arabic (writing and speaking).
• Proven knowledge in both national and international Lebanese issues 
• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent presentation, report writing and communication skills. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills
