Community Engagement Daily Staff_North Lebanon

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

General Objective:
Reporting to the Implementation Team Leader, the Community Engagement Daily Staff will be responsible for implementing activities and achieving objectives as defined in operational proposals through the line manager. The role focuses on enhancing access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in informal settlements by distributing hygiene kits, conducting awareness sessions, and engaging communities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement community engagement activities as per operational plans.

Distribute hygiene kits and conduct targeted hygiene promotion sessions in informal settlements.

Conduct community assessments to identify WASH needs and organize equitable distribution of hygiene materials.

Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels and implement strategies to minimize shortages.

Report on all community engagement activities, including CRI distributions, to the line manager.

Maintain respectful and consultative interactions with staff, managers, and community members.

Refer identified needs through the referral mechanism or internally within the team.

Share ideas for improving work processes with the line manager.

Ensure proper documentation and reporting, including assessments, handovers, referrals, and incident reports.

Maintain regular communication with the line manager and coordinate closely with other departments.
 

Main Challenges:

Participate in the distribution of hygiene items and collect required information.

Draft requests and perform data entry for distribution recipients.

Build trust and encourage participation among diverse populations in informal settlements.

Ensure effective coordination among departments and teams during activities.
 

Priorities for the First 2–3 Months:

Conduct rapid needs assessments to identify target groups and specific WASH needs.

Participate in detailed distribution planning for hygiene kits, considering population density and vulnerability.

Support distribution activities and resolve issues that arise.

Maintain good communication with targeted beneficiaries.

Be actively involved in emergency response activities.

Support the team in driving SI vehicles if needed.

Data Management & Reporting:

Collect site data, update databases and internal tools, and submit daily reports.

Ensure proper archiving of technical documentation, evaluations, distribution databases, and site monitoring tools.
 

Community Engagement & Accountability:

Engage respectfully and transparently with communities, clearly communicating project goals, selection criteria, and activities.
 

Reporting/Communication:

Ensure timely submission of high-quality internal reports, such as daily updates and progress reports.

Maintain clear and regular communication with the line manager and other departments.
 

Organizational Chart Position:

Line Manager: CE-Services Team Leader

Functional Manager: WASH Program Manager
 

Profile Needed:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health, social sciences, education, or related fields.

Experience:

Minimum 1–2 years in a similar position in the INGO sector.

Experience in community engagement, emergency interventions, CRI distribution, rapid needs assessments, baseline surveys, and security assessments.

Experience working in tense security contexts with strict security rules.

Previous experience with SI as a daily enumerator is an advantage.

Languages: English & Arabic

IT Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office, data collection tools, and communication/collaboration platforms.

 

SI WILL OFFER YOU:

A salaried post: 50 USD as per SI daily rate before excluding NRT %
