Construction Supervisor

TASK Under the authority of the Activity Manager , the Construction Supervisor will: • Assess, design, prepare BoQ for construction works • Supervise the construction for all works of the program • Ensure the safety of workers / beneficiaries; • Report the complete construction activity to the Activity Manager ; • Collect data on the completed work for final reports; The construction supervisor will be required to: Shelter Activities: • Identify the needs for rehabilitation, specify the work to be performed, partake in the Contractor selection process and supervise the rehabilitation work to ensure that Solidarités International standards are respected and that the construction works is completed on time. This applies to housing units, larger buildings but also public spaces and accesses. WASH Activities: • Identify the needs for latrines, toilets, bathrooms or water supply system rehabilitation or construction, specify the work to be performed, partake in the Contractor selection process and supervise the work to ensure that Solidarités International standards are respected and that the construction works is completed on time. Reporting • Report activities to the Activity Manager ; • Report the construction progress to management and update the relevant formats and databases for the construction activities; • Report any type of problem encountered on the field • Conduct regular monitoring of the good process and impact of the activities, adapt implementation and plan activities accordingly as well as ensuring that the results are matching with the indicators of the program. • Share formalized information and progress with the team involved on the project on a regular basis POSITION OF THE POST IN THE ORGANISATIONAL CHART (hierarchical and functional) Under the hierarchical authority of: Integrated Approach Activity Manager Hierarchical authority (on base) over: NA Under the functional authority of: NA Functional authority over: NA Candidate’s profile: • Diploma related to Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering • Previous experience in technical projects involving a strong community involvement is a plus • Experience in housing, public small infrastructure and dealing with private contractors • Interest in community development projects • Previous experience in humanitarian field preferable • Strong social and communication skills • Diplomatic, understanding, problem solver • Comfortable with standard office software. • Capacity to use GIS software is a plus • Good spoken and written Arabic and English • Driving licence
