Who we are:
Solidarites International is an international humanitarian organization which provides aid and assistance to victims of war or natural disaster. For over 30 years the association has focused on meeting three vital needs - water, food and shelter - by carrying out emergency programmes followed by longer-term reconstruction projects. Whilst fully respecting the assisted populations’ customs and culture, SolidaritesInternational’s programmes are implemented through the joint expertise of around 180 expatriates and 1500 local managerial staff and employees. Solidarites International is currently present in Africa (Central African Republic, South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Mali, Niger, Mauritania, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast), in Asia (Afghanistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Pakistan), in the Middle East (Syria and Lebanon) and in Haiti.
GOAL/PURPOSES
Under the supervision of the Livelihoods Program Manager, the Database Manager will assist the Livelihoods department in the distillation, analysis and backing-up of information collected on the field. The Database Manager will also assist in designing and implementing a data-management strategy to meet the needs of the department in accordance to the programs implemented.
Responsibilities and activities:
Responsibility 1:
The Database manager will ensure the creation of a proper database for the Household assessments conducted by the Identification teams.
Activity 1.1 To clean the data collected and uploaded on the RAIS database system.
Activity 1.2 To finalize the forms in RAIS database and score the HHs assessed.
Activity 1.3 To liaise with the Livelihoods Activity Manager to cross-check the data collected and paste the data in the internal database of the Livelihoods department.
Activity 1.4 To provide the Livelihoods Activity Manager with lists of eligible beneficiaries.
Activity 1.5 To create on a weekly basis a report with the feedback on the home visits to be sent to the Livelihoods Activity Manager.
Activity 1.6 To provide the Identification Supervisor with technical support for the management of their databases.
Responsibility 2:
The Database manager will ensure the mapping of the activities implemented
Activity 2.1 To maintain updated location maps for Solidarites International activities.
Activity 2.2 To prepare, on request, maps to illustrate the reports.
Responsibility 3:
The Database manager will guarantee the implementation of an inter-operable information management strategy in SOL’s base
Activity 3.1 To analyse regional and national data, to contribute to the identification of Information management gaps and facilitate information sharing with SOL’s partners.
Activity 3.2 To identify new information and data requirements to support operations and partners in the region.
Activity 3.3 To assist in managing the information management strategy.
The above list is non-exhaustive and may be modified by the Livelihoods Program Manager as deemed necessary to improve program implementation.
