Who we are:
Solidarites International is an international humanitarian organization which provides aid and assistance to victims of war or natural disaster. For over 30 years the association has focused on meeting three vital needs - water, food and shelter - by carrying out emergency programmes followed by longer-term reconstruction projects. Whilst fully respecting the assisted populations’ customs and culture, SolidaritesInternational’s programmes are implemented through the joint expertise of around 180 expatriates and 1500 local managerial staff and employees. Solidarites International is currently present in Africa (Central African Republic, South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Mali, Niger, Mauritania, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast), in Asia (Afghanistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Pakistan), in the Middle East (Syria and Lebanon) and in Haiti.
MISSION/objective
Under the supervision of Hygiene promotion activity manger, the HP team leader will be responsible for quantitative, qualitative and timely implementation of Hygiene promotion and solid waste management activities.
Coordination and meetings with operational teams (identification, Com Mob, W&S)
Follow up and monitor the HP team and the activities in the field
Identify sites in need for solid waste solution and follow up the incinerators design
Update the hard and soft files in regular basis
Supervise the implementation of water analysis and distribution of water filters
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordination/Follow-Up
Participate in the bi-weekly meeting with the identification team and other departments
Follow up referrals from the hotline and other departments and ensure that feedbacks and response are given on time
Coordinate with the municipality and other stake holder to ensure the effective response to solid waste management issues
Close coordination with the W&S team to ensure the timely distribution of cleaning kits and water filters
Design and Setting up of the activities
Daily visits to the sites to ensure the quality of hygiene promotion sessions
Update and innovation of HP tools if needed
Supervise the implementation of HP tools monitoring in a monthly basis
Participate in the design and implementation of HP and SWM events
Participate in the design of hard and soft implementation tools.
Participate in the design and upgrade of HP tools, incinerators
Create inventive ways of disseminating messages (by songs, short plays, public advocacy…)
Control and supervision of the activities
Plan the weekly activities for his/her team and have them approved by his/her activity manager
Plan tool and material needs (request from the stock)
Anticipate administrative issues (requests in advance)
Anticipate logistics issues (transportation request, communication means...)
Organize and carry out, with his/her team, tasks assigned by his/her activity manager
Supervise and monitor each stage of activity. Ensure that standards and instructions given by his/her activity Manager, as well as SI procedures, are followed
Respect schedules and deadlines agreed upon with his/her activity Manager
Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the course of the activities and suggest operational solutions
Direct implementation of the activities
Provide inputs for the development of the Hygiene Promotion modules, in collaboration with the HP activity manager
Manage HP session in schools, Refugees’ households, distribution points…
Promote Hygiene to children to help them acquire safer hygiene behaviours
Take part in the distribution of Hygiene Kits and WASH items (water filters and water tanks) for the beneficiary population; during the distributions, provide guidance for the safe utilization of the distributed items
Reporting
Ensure that all data are entered in the proper way and all hard files are archived
Keep an updated attendance sheet for the hygiene promotion sessions
Report your activities to your management
Collect health data from various sources (municipalities, hospitals, clinics, health NGOs, etc.) in order to keep a record of the health situation in the area of intervention
The Team leader may be asked to drive SOL cars and respecting the driving policies set by the logistic department and attached to this document.
