Distribution Officers (Saida) - Five Vacancies

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:

General objective:

Under the supervision of the Emergency Supervisor, the Distribution Officer is responsible for organizing, managing, and implementing distributions to beneficiaries in accordance with Solidarités International procedures and standards.

Some distribution roles may also include awareness-raising, advisory, and/or evaluation components. In cases where multiple roles are held concurrently, please refer to the relevant job description for each corresponding position.

Key Responsibilities:

Distribution:

  • Under the supervision of the Team Leader, participate in the logistical and administrative organization, planning, and preparation of distributions.
  • Implement distributions using Solidarités International tools, including:
    • Participating in the census and registration of beneficiaries
    • Carrying out on-site distribution activities
    • Recruiting and training daily workers
    • Assigning tasks to daily workers according to the Team Leader’s instructions
    • Supervising distributions to beneficiaries
  • Ensure that each registered and identified beneficiary receives assistance.
  • After each distribution, calculate and verify the number of households reached and the quantities of goods distributed.
  • Collect and replace materials used during distribution.
  • Respect Solidarités International’s administrative procedures before, during, and after distributions.

Reporting / Communication

  • Maintain monitoring tools and ensure proper archiving at the Solidarités International office, making them available to the Team Leader.
  • Archive distribution cards, census data, and beneficiary lists.
  • Under the supervision of the Team Supervisor, contribute to the drafting of distribution reports by:
    • Sharing relevant information on the distribution process
    • Extracting and submitting distribution statistics to the Team Supervisor and/or Program Manager
  • Participate in seminars and training workshops related to distribution activities and objectives.
  • Report to the Team Supervisor on activity progress, assigned tasks, challenges encountered, and the quality of relationships with beneficiaries.
  • Report on any issues related to tasks, Solidarités International programs, or safety concerns.
  • Act as a liaison with local communities and authorities to identify needs, grievances, and significant events that may impact activities.
  • Analyze the humanitarian context, considering protection concerns and the “Do No Harm” principle.
  • Collaborate with local administrations and authorities.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and clusters when requested.

PROFILE NEEDED:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as humanitarian studies, social sciences, international development, or a related discipline.

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in humanitarian work or with NGOs, preferably in emergency response or distribution activities.

Languages: Good command of both English and Arabic (spoken and written).

IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Technical Skills: Familiarity with distribution processes, beneficiary registration, and data collection tools is an asset.

Core Competencies: Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work under pressure, teamwork, and respect for humanitarian principles.

Other Requirements: Previous exposure to emergency response contexts and understanding of humanitarian standards and the “Do No Harm” principle are highly desirable.

SI WILL OFFER YOU:

A salaried post: 1,325 USD as basic salary

Vacation: 1.75 paid leave per month
