 PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian NGO which, for more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the first cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI's teams - 2000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers - work with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

Solidarités International (SI) is determined to prevent and fight all type of abuse – all act of exploitation, abuse and/or sexual harassment (SEAH) against members of beneficiary communities or collaborators, fraud, corruption, violation of persons and/or property, funding of activities harmful to human rights – that could be perpetrated in the frame of its interventions. SI implements a zero-tolerance policy regarding acts of SEAH.

Solidarites International (SI) is supporting vulnerable populations in Lebanon since 2013. The base in Zahle opened in 2016, the sub-base in Ras Baalbek in 2024. SI programs are articulated around its two historical pillars: WASH and FSL, and are expending to Shelter and Disaster Risk Reduction as well.

From Zahle and Ras-Baalbek, SI is delivering emergency, recovery and development programs across Bekaa, Baalbek-Hermel, Mount Lebanon and the north of Nabatiyeh governorates. SI aims to consolidate its presence in the northern part of the Bekaa Valley.

SI team in Zahle and Ras-Baalbek is composed of more or less 30 dedicated employees, depending of the ongoing projects. The Ras-Baalbek sub-base currently hosts 6 employees.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

General objective:

The cleaner will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of Solidarités International’s offices, as well as the living and working quarters of its personnel, ensuring that all areas are kept clean, safe, and pleasant.

The main challenges:

  • Manage the stock of cleaning products under the supervision of his/her direct supervisor.
  • Ensure that all tasks or responsibilities are done in a timely and efficient manner under the supervision of the line manager.
  • Ensure the guesthouse is clean and tidy

Priorities for the 2/3 first months:

  • Ensure thorough cleaning of offices, including desks, tables, cupboards, and common surfaces.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and toilets on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all bathrooms are consistently stocked with necessary supplies (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.).
  • Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including refrigerators and microwaves.
  • Monitor and manage the stock of cleaning products and office consumables, ensuring timely replenishment.

Responsibilities and main activities:

Main tasks:

  • Disinfect floors.
  • Clean offices, tables, cupboards, and make beds in the guesthouse.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and toilets.
  • Empty paper bins and trash cans.
  • Ensure that all bathrooms are equipped with necessary supplies.
  • Wash, dry, and iron clothes belonging to Solidarités International’s expatriate personnel, as well as restroom and household linens.
  • Clean the kitchen and refrigerate.
  • Perform regular deep cleaning.
  • Manage the stock of cleaning products under the supervision of the direct supervisor.
  • Ensure that no unauthorized persons (other than the cleaner, cook, and expatriates) enter the premises.

The Cleaner (Housekeeper) may be asked to drive SI cars and respect the driving policies set by the logistics department.

The above list is a non-exhaustive one, nor limitative. You could be asked other responsibilities and tasks within the framework of your job on demand of the direct line manager.

PROFILE NEEDED

  • Studies: Highschool Degree.
  • Experience : minimum of  2-years experience in a similar position, for INGO/NGO sector
  • Language : ARABIC LANGUAGE: Fluent

        ENGLISH LANGUAGE: None (a plus)

  • Qualification :  good communication skills, positive attitude, respect of confidentiality

SI WILL OFFER YOU

A salaried post: 690 USD as basic salary.

Vacation: 1.75 paid leave per month
