MISSION / OBJECTIVES
Under the direct supervision of WASH and Shelter program manager , the HP activity manager will be responsible for:
- Plan, implement and monitor HYGIENE PROMOTION related activities
- Provide full support and training to Hygiene promoters and other program activities on the field.
- Ensure that the HP activity are well executed and deliver quality results, where appropriate, proposes adjustments or developments to ensure relevance.
- Update the HP data tools in a daily basis
- Insure personal flexibility (emergency phase), involvement and respect.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities:
Ensure that assigned activities are implemented according to program work plan and methodology validated by the management
Prepare project work plan for assigned Hygiene Promotion Activities, including but not limited to; emergency preparedness and response, HP messaging, behaviour change communications, community mobilization and water management.
Prepare weekly team planning, project cycle planning
Participate in the preparation and implementation of diagnostics
Participate in the design and the financial dimension of the human and logistical programs to implement
Track the evolution of needs throughout project implementation, assess both positive and negative impacts of activities and propose relevant adjustments of project activities and work plan.
Follow and report on HP related activities
Facilitate community involvement in the design and delivery of hygiene and waste management services through focus group discussions and the capacity building of gender-specific user groups.
Supervise the data collection and follow up of impact beneficiaries at field level
Compile the regular report from the field team regarding the progress of hygiene promotion activities including distribution and make analysis for program development
Human Resources Management
Manage, supervise and provide daily technical support to assigned field team
Provide guidance and capacity building to team members on hygiene promotion and community development
Ensure that all SI team members understand and respect the humanitarian principles and working procedures
Participate to recruitment and conduct regular evaluation of position under his/her management
Participate in the recruitment of the national staff for his/her activity(ies)
Conduct workshops and regular or ad hoc meetings
Evaluate the performance of the members of his/her team(s)
Make sure his/her team(s) follow the safety rules
Logistics and Administration
Support the manager in the follow-up of administrative and logistics procedures
Support the manager in the follow up and forecast of budget lines related to assigned activities
In cooperation with the administrative department, help draw up budgets for his/her activity(ies), budget follow up and proposal budgets for the program parts
Prepare Internal Order Forms (IOF) and follow orders using the logistics service
Report the state of decentralized inventory to the logistics department (“field” inventory)
Capitalization
Write the capitalization documents in accordance with SI tools
Prepare handover reports before the end of his/her employment contract and forward them to concerned parties in the mission and at headquarters
Ensure diffusion of SI technical documentation
Reporting / coordination / communication / representation
Report back any problems and constraints encountered during project implementation, and suggest appropriate solutions
Report on any update on security context or any event that may affect SI activities
Report every week to Manager regarding progress on activities according to format and participate to monthly progress report
Coordinate with field representatives in accordance with management guidelines.
Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and guidelines
Coordinate with support staff (logistic and administration) + all WASH staff involved on the program.
Participate to program meeting
Liaise with the local population and authorities in order to identify needs, complaints, or any issues which could affect project activities
Have and promote a good behaviour on the field as Solidarites International employee.
