Outreach Worker

Who we are:   Solidarites International is an international humanitarian organization which provides aid and assistance to victims of war or natural disaster. For over 30 years the association has focused on meeting three vital needs - water, food and shelter - by carrying out emergency programmes followed by longer-term reconstruction projects. Whilst fully respecting the assisted populations’ customs and culture, SolidaritesInternational’s programmes are implemented through the joint expertise of around 180 expatriates and 1500 local managerial staff and employees. Solidarites International is currently present in Africa (Central African Republic, South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Mali, Niger, Mauritania, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast), in Asia (Afghanistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Pakistan), in the Middle East (Syria and Lebanon) and in Haiti.       Responsibilities: General responsibilities To identify and register vulnerable families amongst Syrian refugees and Lebanese host families in the intervention area; To ensure that the identified beneficiaries receive adequate support throughout the project. Action-related Responsibilities Conduct assessments and surveys in the field to identify vulnerable families Conduct monitoring and evaluation of the Shelter activities   Report your activities to the management Represent SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL when necessary (during meetings, or in other SI programs) Maintain an accurate reporting and data management of your activities. Task Description: Beneficiary Identification and Registration Inform the community about SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL’s activities and answer any question related to the organization and the program; Create a network of focal points at the level of the municipality in order to be informed about new arrivals of refugees in the project implementation area Conduct household surveys in order to identify and register project beneficiaries, both amongst existing refugees and newcomers Explain the purpose of the project to each beneficiary family Enter beneficiary data in the Analysis Software / database Distribution of Shelter Kits and Cash for Rent For each Shelter activity beneficiary family, arrange the signature of a MoU between the owner of the dwelling, the beneficiary and Solidarités International Organise the distribution of the Sealing of kits in collaboration with the construction supervisor Organise the distribution of the Cash for Rent in the presence of both the beneficiary family and the owner Monitoring of activities and Reporting Conduct regular monitoring of the Cash for Rent activity, notably to ensure that the rent is not increased by the owner Report your activities to your management Share information with the WASH team on a regular basis Conduct other types of surveys in order to measure the impact and effectiveness of the Shelter activities   The above list is a non exhaustive one, nor limitative. You could be asked other responsibilities and tasks within the framework of your job on demand of both the Shelter Program Manager and deputy Shelter Program Manager. Candidate’s profile: Background in social work, protection, psychosocial or equivalent field Previous experience in humanitarian field preferable. Spoken English or French desirable
