ABOUT THE JOB:
General objective:
The site Mapping Officer, as part of the IM team at Solidarites International, and under the supervision of the site mapping activity manager, aims to collect information about informal tented settlement of refugees in North (Akkar, Tripoli, Minieh-Danniyeh, Zgharta, Batroun, Koura and Bcharre). His/her main role is to provide accurate, updated, and reliable information used to facilitate the response of NGOs in Lebanon to the needs of vulnerable refugees in Informal Settlements
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
- Collect a high quality data using the phone application in addition to the field paper template
- Managing the security of data especially that the mapping officer will be responsible for collecting some sensitive data
Responsibilities and main activities:
Data Collection
- Perform data collection and processing activities, using smart phone technology according to Mapping SOPs.
- Input into data collection plan.
- Conduct assessments and surveys in the field on newly identified IS's on a daily basis every sweep.
- Maintain an accurate reporting and data management of your activities.
- Conduct reassessments and updated surveys of previously identified IS's every sweep.
- Raise internal and external referrals for sites and individuals as appropriate, being sensitive to site and household needs.
Action-related responsibilities
- Reporting of activities to the IS mapping Activity manager on a daily basis.
- Represent SI when necessary (on field, during meetings, or in other SI programs).
- Liaise with local communities, municipalities, and refugees on site.
- Communicate implementation problems or issues to the Activity manager, Project Manager, or Security Activity manager as appropriate.
- Support logistics activities.
- Ensure that equipment is fully charged and well maintained on a daily basis.
- Work in team with other departments, mapping officers, drivers, and the Activity manager for project implementation.
- Follow SI security guidelines at all times and report any security incidents or concerns immediately
- Drive a SI vehicle to and from project sites, following SI vehicle policy and road regulations.
- Attend internal meetings and trainings as required.
- Participate in trainings with other mapping partners when needed.
- Be willing and able to visit Solidarites International and other NGO's offices when necessary.
- Always adhere to the SI Code of Ethics.
- Any other reasonable duties, as required by line manager.
Regular identification and Mapping of ISes
- Mapping of ISes in T+5 and Akkar areas along with updating and collecting data related to HH (household) WaSH, education, health and other data related for each IS every sweep.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with local communities (both host and beneficiary) in the field.
- Inform the community about SI activities and answer any question related to the organization and the program, directing those concerned to appropriate agencies or the Hotline as appropriate.
- Conducting internal and external referrals for all needed refugees.

framework of the project at the request of the IM Project Manager, Mapping Activity Manager.

YOUR PROFILE
Specific skills and experience:
- A B.S degree in social work or any related field
- NGO or community engagement experience
Competencies & skills
- Significant experience of GIS data manipulation
- Good working knowledge of geography and culture of North and Akkar region
- Strong working knowledge of ArcGIS
- Technical aptitude to pick up digital data collection methods
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
Soft skills:
- Passionate about serving the poor, self-motivated and a desire to further knowledge
- Team-player with good interpersonal skills
Willing to support others and share workloads - Minimum 1 year of driving experience
- Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels
- Creative, open-minded, flexible and a self-leaner
- Ability to adapt communication strategies for different situations

SI WILL OFFER YOU
A salaried post: 1325 USD as a monthly basic salary
Vacation: 1.5 days/month
