ABOUT THE STRUCTURE…
Solidarités International (SI) is an International NGO working with vulnerable populations, mainly victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters. Specialized for nearly 40 years in the coverage of vital needs, S.I. takes charge of emergency and reconstruction programs.
With respect for cultures and close to the people, Solidarités International implements its programs by combining its skills with those of its employees and local managers.
Solidarités International's teams, made up of around 270 expatriates and nearly 2200 local employees, are today present in 18 countries in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Caribbean where they are particularly committed to fighting diseases related to unsafe water but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods.
ABOUT THE JOB
General objective:
Under the supervision of the Security and Liaison Manager, the Watchman ensures the safety and security of all personnel, goods and equipment deployed or stored on the premises of Solidarites International to which he/she is assigned.
The main challenges:
- Dealing with hostile visitors
- Effective coordination with different departments.
Responsibilities and main activities:
Security on premises
• Ensure that entrance door to the premises, and all doors of the office building (offices, stocks) are locked or padlocked before the closure of business (COB)
• Be present (Stand) at the entrance door, patrol during the shift to monitor the situation on the premises
• Verify regularly the well-functioning of the CCTV, namely by observing the situation of installed cameras
• Ensure sufficient lighting for the night on the premises before leaving the building.
• Switch on and off the generator as per needs or as per instructions by logistics or per established procedures.
Reporting
• Report any anomalies or irregularities encountered on the premises during the shift immediately to his/her line manager
• Write brief service note after being relieved from his/her shift and a situation note when assuming duty.
Safety on premises
• Ensure that fire extinguishers are in place on the premises and report to the line manager any absence or damage
• Ensure that during his/her working hours the generator on the premises (if it is SI property) is operational (filled and checked) to supply power in the absence of city power or neighbourhood power supplies through generator.
During COVID-19 pandemic only
• Check the body temperature of all persons (visitors and SI personnel) entering the premises and complete the daily attendance sheet.
Welcome desk
• Ensure that no person other than SI personnel and registered visitors are on the premises
• Register all visitors in a visitor book and inform the SI person to be visited that he/she may welcome the visitor
• Monitor and organize the arrival and departure of people and goods affected by or in transit through his/her assignment area
• Open the gate for vehicles when needed, while ensuring that vehicles of staff or visitors are parked as per the guidelines
YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience
• High school degree
• Desirable previous experience as Watchman and previous experience with NGO
Knowledge and skills
• Very good communication skills
• Teamwork and Cooperation
Languages
• Arabic essential, desirable basic knowledge of English
SI WILL OFFER YOU
Basic monthly salary: 690 USD
Vacation: 1.5 days/month
