We are seeking full time Driver  for the emergency response project dedicated to Syrian refugee children at risk in Lebanon. This post is based in the Bekaa region. We are looking for a dynamic person who can work on the field, handle a big responsibility, has experience with child safeguarding* (preferably in emergencies).  *Child safeguarding includes all activities that the organisation undertakes to ensure that its co-workers, operations, and programmes do no harm to children and do not expose them to the risk of harm and abuse; appropriate responses and effective management of child safeguarding concerns are in place; any concerns the organisation has about children’s safety in its own programmes and within the communities they work in are reported to the appropriate authorities. Tasks and Responsibilities include: 1.  Fulfills the Transport Needs of the SOS Children’s Village a)  Carries out the driving requirements as directed by the National Focal Point, who is responsible for coordinating vehicle use. b)  Conducts trips using the shortest possible route. Avoids unnecessary deviations and multiple trips to minimize mileage and time wastage. Use of SOS vehicles for personal trips is prohibited. c)  Records all trips in the vehicle logbook.  2.  Ensures the Safety of the project and Staff a)  Drives safely at all times to protect the safety of children and staff. Displays good road manners and obeys all traffic regulations. Stops only where it is safe to do so. b)  Accepts responsibility for damage caused by gross negligence, and may be required to pay for such damage. c)  Follows the correct procedure in the event of an accident. Notifies the Village Father and appropriate authorities immediately, and renders assistance where necessary.  3.  Maintains the Safety and Security of Vehicles a)  Ensures vehicles are kept in good working order. Regularly checks lights, indicators, brakes, tyre pressure, oil, battery and radiator. Reports any defects to the National Focal Point. Ensures all necessary servicing is performed by reputable agencies. b)  Maintains the cleanliness of vehicles. Regularly washes the interior and exterior. Ensures vehicles always have sufficient fuel.  4. General a)  Performs any other reasonable duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor. b)  Ensures the safety of all equipment c)  Receives all visitors in a friendly, polite and professional manner. Refers them to the appropriate person or office.
