Field Worker

We are seeking a “Field worker” for the emergency project of SOS Children’s Villages in Lebanon. The emergency project consists of different components. There is an interim care centre, which gives full-time care to Syrian refugee children at risk in Lebanon. The centre is located in Khenshara, in the Metn region in Mount Lebanon (30 km north east of Beirut). Next to this, we have an awareness and empowerment component, mainly aimed at Syrian refugee women. In addition, we would like to set up an ‘emergency family support’ unit, in which we will give support to families in order to prevent family separation. As a field worker, you will be mainly working on the awareness, empowerment and emergency family support. Where necessary, you will help in the interim care centre.   Key performance areas and main responsibilities:   Ensuring the correct design, development and implementation of different outreach activities related to the emergency project of SOS Lebanon following the project plan of 2016. Activities are, among others, empowerment and awareness activities and emergency family support for Syrian refugees. Updating service mappings Undertake situation analyses and needs assessments for outreach activities where necessary: planning, design, adoption of tools, target areas and beneficiaries, implementation, analysis, and reporting. Prioritise child protection issues and design prevention and response programmes and initiatives. Child protection related issues may include, but not be limited to, exploitation and abuse in relation to sexual and other forms of violence, HIV/Aids, children associated with fighting forces, separated children, child trafficking, access to education, etc. Make frequent field visits to areas where the field activities take place to monitor implementation of activities, identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed In collaboration with case workers, provide technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of agreed child protection plans including the psychosocial recovery (care) and assistance (legal and social) to vulnerable children and their families. Liaise and collaborate with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies to: -          Identify potential partnerships for the implementation of activities -          Fill gaps in activities -          Identify existing services that children and families can be linked up to -          Ensure coordination, implementation of common standards in the field and consideration of protection issues in assistance programs. -          Follow up on referrals Participate in the development and adjustments of the 2016 strategy for the program Accompany beneficiaries to outdoor activities/visits when required Support in the Interim Alternative Care Centre when required Responsible for report writing on a monthly basis on the different activities executed Participate in coordination meetings with other relevant actors where necessary Follow the logistics, supply and administrative needs for the program Perform other duties as assigned Safe guard the wellbeing of the beneficiaries at all times Act in the best interest of the centre, beneficiaries, staff, and SOS Lebanon Abide by the Child Protection Policy and SOS Code of Conduct
