Main Tasks:
- Responsible for managing cash flow and transfers to the Emergency Response programme.
- Responsible for overseeing and monitoring project expenditure and reporting any irregularity to the National Finance Manager.
- Responsible for elaborating monthly financial reports and donor reports.
- Technically supports the Emergency Response HR, Finance and Admin Officer in the location.
- Supervise payment vouchers, cheques and petty cash payments.
- Ensures that all invoices are paid promptly to protect the reputation of SOS Children’s Villages.
- Prepares Bank and Cash Registers and bank reconciliation statements.
- Replenishes the Project’s petty cash float and ensures this is responsibly and effectively used at all times.
- Banks all income received and affects all cash withdrawals.
- Gets involved in the chronological and systematic accounting for all the asset-related operations carried out within the projects
- Administers the project payroll. Ensures correct payment of income tax and other statutory deductions.
- Submits a projected income and expense form and requests regular transfers to ensure sufficient running cost funds are received for the project.
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Prepares monthly balance sheet schedules.
- Issues D 365 reports whenever necessary, and submits such to the interested departments;
- Whenever necessary, provides support to the Finance & Controlling Manager in calculating the working capital required to finance the operation of the organization/project and to make the potential investments;
- Organizes and archives the documents on categories, in folders and files, on periods;
- Informs the line manager of any failures of the work system that are liable to impair his/her work;
- Examines statements to ensure accuracy.
- Correctly and timely enters all financial and accounting documents, including any statistical data, into D365;
- Ensures that statements and records comply with laws and regulations.
Child Safeguarding (CS)
- Responsible within own area of work to prevent and protect children of all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination based on SOS Child Protection Policy principles
- Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the national CS focal person or any other member of the national CS team and/or to respective line manager.
