Fundraising Coordinator

Mission of the position: The main aim of the fundraiser is to pursue opportunities to cover SOS Children’s Villages running costs and investments in order to get the financial self-sufficiency by fundraising activities targeting individuals. The fundraiser aims to position SOS Children’s Villages as a strong and consistent partner among potential and existing supporters, based on SOS Children’s Villages roots, vision, mission and values. The fundraiser conducts her/his work according to valid manuals and guidelines and the Fund Development & Communications Department’s planning and reporting procedure.   Main clients: External: potential and actual donors Director/Head of Fundraising FR team colleagues for individual & corporate fundraising and communications Regional Office / FDC function Individual Fundraising Individual fundraising experts of the regional network      Key performance areas and main responsibilities: She/he is innovative and creative in raising funds from individuals and corporations according to the business plan plan and targets, based on SOS best practises, competitors activities, research, tests and continuous evaluation of fundraising opportunities, methods and results. The aim is to have a strategic mix of products (committed giving, single/sporadic gifts, merchandising, etc., channels (direct mail, face2face, telemarketing, combined like click to call, mass media, digital, events) build long lasting relationships with donors (donor lifetime cycle) to apply database management in form of donor relationship management principles and donor segmentation for acquisition and retention activities. The fundraiser is responsible for fulfilling the business plan and for reaching the set and agreed targets. She/he plans, monitors, analyses and evaluates each campaign and activity according to the planning and reporting procedure and against defined and agreed KPIs/ Controlling Figures (such as response rates, PBT (pay back time), ROI, attrition rate, real net income) issued by the Fund Development & Communications Department. This activity requires a close cooperation with the National Director and the Chief Accountant/Finance Manager. She/he has to adhere to all official manuals, guidelines, minutes of Fund Development & Communication Workshops and standards issued by the SOS Children’s Villages or the Fund Development & Communications Department as well as to the legal requirements in the country. She/he monitors competitors in terms of individual fundraising, the development in the market, as well as fundraising-related legal regulations (tax exemptions, merchandising, data protection etc.) and the economic development (increase of costs, economical growth…) in the country. Child rights & advocacy: the fundraiser ensures that communication for fundraising follows a child-rights terminology and approach (incl. respect of the children’s right to privacy) and is co-ordinated and consistent with communication and messages pursuing advocacy objectives. She/he meets regularly with national staff in charge for advocacy activities to share information and co-ordinate the timing and the content of their activities.
