Part-time Project Coordinator for the educational support summer program

The Part time Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the daily operations of the educational support project in SOS Ksarnaba, to serve 34 children in Alternative Care (AC ) and 141 children at our  Family Strengthening Program (FSP )  as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic repercussions,  from 1st elementary till 3rd intermediate. This person will encourage, empower, trust, inspire, teach, have confidence in and value each member of our team. With the goal of creating a team that thrives on feedback, the Project Coordinator is reflective and aspires to offer the best quality care and child safeguarding for the children and families. This person makes decisions based on sound developmental knowledge and continues learning best practices of the early childhood field. The Project Coordinator is responsible for creating a safe, positive, nurturing and engaging environment. The Project Coordinator seeks to understand and meet the daily expectations of families. This person is responsible for ongoing communication with families, teachers and the Program Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and nurture the culture described in the position overview.
  • Establish school wide-open communication. Consult with teachers regarding daily schedule, individual children and parent needs.
  • Communicate and plan with the Village Director on a regular basis, keeping them informed of all activity within the school relating to general business, children, and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily attendance and enrollment and communicates information to all staff.
  • Meet weekly with the Director to coordinate staffing, enrollment changes and activities planning.
  • Maintain up-to-date parent information board, as well as up-to-date postings throughout the school for students and families.
  • Ensure and maintain proper teacher-to-student ratios.
  • Ensure a clean, tidy and organized appearance throughout the day.
  • Oversee the daily closing procedures including cleaning and parent communication.
  • Ensure the appropriate implementation and coordination of field trips, specialists, special visitors, and optional class offerings.
  • Process and format data using Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and other software.
  • Maintain facilities, inventory, equipment and supplies as required. Oversee safe operations to include sanitary bathrooms, kitchens and classrooms; post evacuation plan in each classroom; arrange for repairs as required.
  • Perform teacher responsibilities when needed.
  • Participate in required training programs, conferences, courses or other aspects of professional growth.
  • Schedule and conduct daily afterschool team meetings.
  • Serve as a mandated reporter, reporting any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the Local Child safeguarding Committee for follow-through requirements.
  • Maintain Department of Early Education and Care compliance; report to the Director any potential non-compliances in a timely way.
  • Ensure reporting of the program running.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Education, Social Work, Social Science
  • Highly proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
