The program aims at providing quality, specialized educational support to serve around 175 children as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic repercussions, which have hugely affected the normal flow of education in regular classes. The educational level of those beneficiaries vary from 1st elementary till 3rd intermediate. The aim is to mitigate these children’s weaknesses in several school subjects and to develop their skills where needed.
The tutors will be teaching subjects that children receive at school such as: Arabic, English, Mathematics, Geography & History, Civic Education, Sciences, Biology and French. The tutors will teach the children who require extra scholastic assistance in the above different subjects. The students will be distributed based on their educational level.
Main Responsibilities:
- To improve the children’s school performance and grades to have a smooth transfer to the next year educational level
- To provide students with an opportunity to experience a class setting with other children of their own age after more than a year of house lockdown
Child Safeguarding (CS)
- Responsible within own area of work to prevent and protect children of all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination based on SOS Child Protection Policy principles
- Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the national CS focal person or any other member of the national CS team and/or to the respective line manager
