The Programmes Coordinator works with all programmes staff help ensure that a high quality of care is provided to children through programme development, proposal writing, reporting, research, advocacy and capacity building. the position is located in the National Office and reports directly to the National Director. The position does not have any direct reports but works closely with SOS Children's Village Directors, SOS Mother and Aunts, and Family Strengthening Programme Coordinators as well co-workers in the Fundraising and Finance Departments.

*Child safeguarding includes all activities that the organisation undertakes to ensure that its co-workers, operations, and programmes do no harm to children and do not expose them to the risk of harm and abuse; appropriate responses and effective management of child safeguarding concerns are in place; any concerns the organisation has about children’s safety in its own programmes and within the communities they work in are reported to the appropriate authorities
Tasks and Responsibilities include:
Proposal writing as related to development of new programmes and fundraising. Proposals can be presented both internally (within the SOS Children's Villages federation) or externally depending on type of programme and potential funding opportunities.
Regular reporting on programmes- This includes collecting statistics on activities and number of beneficiaries for semester reports (FBC, Child Protection, Education), activity reports for PSA donors, contributing to the annual report, etc
Within the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, leading advocacy work and carrying out related necessary research.
Elaborating and synchronising strategies and programs relating to the recruitment, training, evaluation and on-going development of SOS Mothers and SOS Aunts
Coordinating with the National Director and the SOS Village Director to offer adequate pedagogical support according to the needs of each SOS mother
Organising SOS Mother Training Program to ensure that SOS mothers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high quality care and enable the development of the children in their care.
Main point of contact for the Regional Office for all issues related to general programming as well as family based care, child protection and advocacy.
Promoting SOS Children's Villages' mission and values in external forums
