The cook will be responsible of preparing foods according to the set specifications of quality, taste and appearance and follows the kitchen chef’s directions.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  1. Receive and sort food items and ensure adequate storage
  2. Wash, clean and cut vegetables and prepare food based on menu
  3. Cut and prepare meat, fish and poultry according to chef directives
  4. Cooks food according to set specifications and recipes
  5. Checking missing items and ingredients and reporting them to the Chef
  6. Clean his/her station as well as the equipment used in collaboration  with steward
  7. Follow company’s standards regarding food handling, cleanliness and hygiene and FIFO method.
  8. Abide by all hygiene measures (including Covid -19, etc.)
  9. Provide support in checking stocks, fridges for expired, rotten items under the supervision of the Chef and inform them accordingly
  10. Responsible for keeping an overall clean workstation at all times

Skills & knowledge:

  • Food preparation, chopping
  • Experience of 6 months to 1 year in line cooking
  • Teamwork
  • Organized, Clean, patient, polite
