Entrepreneurship Local Trainer and Coach, Lebanon   Program: Higher Education for Syrian and Palestinian Refugees Application Deadline: 26 September 2017 Start Date: As soon as possible   SPARK develops higher education and entrepreneurship, so that young ambitious people are empowered to lead their post-conflict society into prosperity. SPARK is a dynamic and growing not-for-profit development organization with over 80 staff members that helps young entrepreneurs to start or grow their own businesses. SPARK is achieving its mission by organizing business plan competitions, empowering Syrian youth to realize their leadership and entrepreneurship potentials, offering leadership summer schools, psycho-social support to students, business skills training, SME coaching and mentoring, business incubation, SME financing, intensive higher vocational summer courses, curriculum development and quality assurance at universities and higher vocational education institutions (capacity building).  SPARK is currently looking for Entrepreneurship Trainer and Coach: Al Fakhoora Dynamic Futures programme vision is, ‘unlocking a new generation of marginalized youth to become educated, professionally skilled and inspirational leaders of the future who can guide their families and communities toward cohesion and prosperity’.  The programme, which targets Palestinian and Syrian refugee postsecondary students of underserved backgrounds, avails opportunities for them to actualize their potential by overcoming socioeconomic, political and cultural limitations and enable them to become productive members in the society.   Al-Fakhoora Dynamic Futures Scholarship and Empowerment programme is multi-faceted, with four main inter-related all working towards the overall vision; Quality Education: Providing access to quality education, through domestic scholarships and international postgraduate scholarships. Student Affairs: Providing all students with access to comprehensive support services that contribute to their academic success and wellbeing through monitoring, mentoring, and psychosocial support. Economic Empowerment: Providing a bridge between educational opportunities and professional success through career preparation and counseling, internships, networking, and opportunities for entrepreneurship and empowerment projects. This is intended to produce graduates in fields that will contribute to the economic reconstruction of their home countries. Economic Empowerment and Entrepreneurship SPARK will support the students to start their own businesses through offering them entrepreneurship and SME development training programme, business plans competition, and coaching and mentoring students who are willing to establish their own businesses. This position is open to Tripoli, Beirut and Bekaa. The applicant must identify which area s/he is applying to. MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: He/She will work with the programme’s management and stakeholders in order to ensure a successful implementation of the training activities. Work in compliance with SPARK policies and procedures. Help connect winning students with relevant entrepreneurship ecosystem partners in Lebanon. The trainer will ensure a successful training delivery to students according to a previously well-prepared entrepreneurship training curriculum by SPARK. Conduct outreach and dissemination events for student communities to introduce the concept of entrepreneurship and small businesses. Deliver a training course on business plan writing including all the components such as marketing plans, feasibility analysis, and financial management. The trainer may choose one topic among those to deliver. Participate in the events of the programme as a supporter and a coach in bootcamps, judging, and pitching events. Requirements and Skills: Minimum 2 years of training and coaching experience for small businesses for marginalised groups. Thorough knowledge of legal and business environment. Background in the entrepreneurship programs is an asset; Excellent networking abilities Flexible, responsible, proactive and being able to work under high workload/pressure Able to deliver the training in Arabic. English language proficiency is an asset. Strong writing and reporting skills; Good communication and social skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural setting; Experience in youth empowerment projects; Creative out-of-the-box thinker.
