Talent Beyond Boundaries is a non-profit organization, based in Washington D.C., USA with operations in Lebanon and Jordan. We are working to open a new safe and legal pathway for refugees to access international employment through work visas. We are connecting skilled refugees and displaced people who are unable to work legally to global employers that are looking for their skills. TBB is working to overcome the barriers that have traditionally prevented refugees from using this legal pathway to live and work in another country on a work visa. We are implementing a pilot project in Lebanon and Jordan to open this safe and legal pathway and prove that displaced individuals can and should be considered for international employment.
Description of duties:
- Providing support on CV writing to refugees registered with Talent Beyond Boundaries. This could include following up with individuals registered on TBB’s online portal by phone and working with them to ensure that they complete strong and complete profiles
- Helping TBB provide resources to refugee participants to improve their profile/CV. This could include compiling resource lists, following up with participants by email with helpful links, and other strategic support
- Helping to strengthen TBB’s outreach by identifying causes of incomplete or inaccurate registration and working with the team to develop strategic plans for outreach improvement -Supporting TBB’s social media outreach
- Strategic support to the TBB team - Report to Lebanon Project Manager and/or Project Officer weekly on results
- Occasional add hock tasks (ex. organizational, logistical, or administrative tasks)
- Occasional field visits – optional
Requirements:
Thorough understanding of TBB’s project and the pertaining details
Proficiency in Arabic and English, Spoken, Read and Written
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, email etc.
Strong knowledge of social media is a plus
Educational level: University student or higher
Charismatic and courteous
Ability to work with individuals impacted by conflict
Passion for TBB’s mission
Sensitivity working in a refugee context
Flexibility working in a start-up environment
Availability of personal laptop
