Service provision agreement - 6 months

12 hours per week

Incentive: 287 USD subject to 8.5% tax withholding

About the position:

The Outreach Volunteer will support community engagement activities by recruiting participants and volunteers for vocational training and environmental initiatives. The role involves conducting outreach, building relationships with community members, promoting project activities, and providing on-site support during trainings and events.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach and Recruitment

  • Identify and engage potential participants for a sewing workshop and vocational training program in fish cage production.
  • Conduct outreach activities through community visits, and youth groups.
  • Promote project objectives and encourage participation among target beneficiaries.
  • Maintain records of outreach activities and participant registrations.

Vocational Training Support

  • Assist in organizing and coordinating sewing workshops and fish cage production training sessions.
  • Support trainers and facilitators during training activities.
  • Help oversee participant attendance and engagement.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support as required.

Environmental Campaign and Volunteer Mobilization

  • Recruit youth and community volunteers for environmental awareness campaigns.
  • Mobilize participants for coastal conservation activities, including beach clean-ups and community activism initiatives.
  • Promote environmental stewardship and sustainable practices within the community.
  • Support the planning and implementation of awareness events, workshops, and community actions.

Community Engagement

  • Build positive relationships with community leaders, youth groups, schools, and local organizations.
  • Act as a liaison between project staff and community members.
  • Gather feedback from participants and community stakeholders to improve program effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for community development, youth engagement, and environmental conservation.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Previous volunteer or community outreach experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends during events and campaigns.

  • Successful recruitment and engagement of youth and community volunteers.

Requirements:

  • Residing in: Batroun or Bebnine, Akkar.
  • Ability to move in the field and work across target areas inside and outside collective shelters
  • Commitment to confidentiality and humanitarian principles

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with vulnerable communities
  • Good listening skills and respectful, non-judgmental attitude toward diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic reporting and documentation skills (attendance, simple activity notes) are an asset
  • Previous volunteer or community work is an asset
