PSS facilitator - Akkar (Part-time, 2 positions)

We are looking for an experienced PSS Facilitator to be based in Akkar (Part-time, 2/3 days per week). 

The PSS Facilitator is responsible for designing and delivering structured psychosocial support activities for women and girls. The role focuses on creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes mental well-being, resilience, and empowerment. The facilitator will also ensure proper referrals for medium-to-high-risk cases and contribute to the continuous improvement of program activities.

Main Tasks:

1. Planning & Implementation 

  • Develop and adapt FPSS session plans for children and caregivers using approved curricula. 
  • Facilitate sessions in line with global minimum standards and national PSS/CP guidelines. 
  • Conduct needs assessments and tailor group modalities to community context. 
  • Ensure sessions are trauma-informed, inclusive, and age/gender sensitive. 
  • Deliver awareness sessions on topics such as parenting, stress management, child protection, and emotional wellbeing. 

2. Facilitation & Group Management 

  • Create safe spaces that encourage expression, participation, and peer support. 
  • Use participatory methods to engage children and caregivers meaningfully. 
  • Manage group dynamics and respond to challenging behaviors with empathy and skill. 
  • Promote dignity, confidentiality, and non-discrimination throughout all activities. 

3. Monitoring, Reporting & Referral 

  • Document attendance, feedback, and session outcomes. 
  • Provide regular updates to technical and project leads. 
  • Identify and refer individuals needing specialized services using safe referral pathways. 
  • Ensure all participants are aware of feedback and complaint mechanisms. 

4. Capacity Building & Collaboration 

  • Participate in training, supervision, and reflection meetings. 
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated response

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field. 
  • Previous experience in PSS facilitation, preferably with children and caregivers. 
  • Familiarity with FPSS group modalities and awareness session delivery. 
  • Strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and trauma-informed care. 
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
