The Tahaddi Education Center (TEC) provides educational opportunities for at-risk, out of school children in Beirut. We are currently seeking educators for the primary school level (KG 2 to grade 5) who are skilled in teaching several subjects. Preference will be given to candidates who have an academic background in education. In addition to teaching at the primary school level, educators will also be involved in other activities such as tutoring children of the neighborhood, organizing social activities and facilitating educational activities with young adults.

Full-time position are on the basis 40 hours of work per week (Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm) with holiday and vacation benefits as follows:
The month of August (but circumstances could lead the administration to move this month earlier or later, on part or all the month of July or September)
Christmas and Easter vacations ( not less than 8 days)
12 official holiday days
Position Aim:
Help and support unschooled and /or deprived children and young adults to become a valuable part of society through holistic education initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and educate groups of children aged 7 to 14 according to the TEC requirements, using exciting methods and instructional materials to meet children’s varying needs and interests
Plan, prepare, animate, lead and mediate in a creative way
Show self motivation, enthusiasm and creativity
Work effectively with team members
Organize educational and social activities for children and the young adults of the neighborhoods
Reporting:
The Educator reports to the Coordinator and/or the Director of the TEC
Skill Requirements:
A full commitment to Tahaddi’s core values and humanitarian mandate
Full adherence to Tahaddi’s policies
Strong Arabic language skills. French and English are desirable with at least one with fluency
Good relational skills with a positive and encouraging spirit
Nonjudgmental attitude, maturity and patience in dealing with children and community members of different backgrounds
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context
Computer literate, be at least familiar with MS Office software package
Working Conditions:
Willingness to work in very poor neighborhood with basic facilities and complex social dynamics.
The TEC is located behind the Sportive City, not far from the Kuwaiti Embassy.
Experience Required:
Primary school teaching experience is a plus, any teaching experience with groups of children and/or young adults is welcome.
