Job Opening: Social Worker (Full-time Monday thru Friday 8:00-3:30)
Tahaddi Lebanon (www.tahaddilebanon.org) is a growing local NGO focused on education, social services and health care for families facing extreme economic and social conditions. Tahaddi Centers are located in Hay el Gharbeh (Southern Beirut, behind the Sport City).
We are looking for a full-time Social Worker with skills in working at the community & family level.
Position Overview: The Social Worker will work in close coordination with the social work team and ultimately report to the directors of the education and health centers. Working within the community he/she will assess family situations (both strengths and areas of needed support), conduct home visits and connect families to internal and external resources. The social worker will also triage cases, dealing with some concerns while referring others with more complex concerns to the broader social work team. The social worker will focus specifically on two areas: Syrian relief program and the medical services program.

Job Description for Social Worker
This position will provide support to a busy social work department. This person’s time will be split between our two centers which are in close walking distance to one another. It will involve working three days per week at the Tahaddi Health Center (THC) and two days at the Tahaddi Education Center (TEC).
Syrian family support program:
Coordinate day to day project activities related to the distribution of aid for Syrian families (food vouchers, household supplies etc.).
Conduct home visits to assess household needs (accompanied by the social work assistant)
Oversee and implement the monthly distribution of food vouchers
Medical Social Assistance Program:
Support social work services at the THC by triaging cases, distributing agreed upon financial assistance, accompany patients on appointments as needed and advocate for patients with government and UN insurance providers. Liaise with partner organizations to refer patients as needed.
Conduct home visits with nurse and doctors. Follow a set number of families with significant health concerns.
Needed qualifications:
Bachelor degree in social work strongly preferred. Degree in related area maybe considered with relevant experience.
1-2 years of relevant experience ideally in a busy community based setting and experience working with families facing considerable economic and social pressure.

Fluent Arabic language skills (written and spoken). French and English are desirable with at least one at a functional level.
Diplomacy and maturity in dealing with community members of different backgrounds

Equity between patients with regards to gender, age, race, religion or political preferences
Ability to cope with working in a dynamic and changing environment
Computer literate, be at least familiar with MS Office software package
