Social Worker In Tahaddi Education Center

The Tahaddi Education Center (TEC) provides educational opportunities for at-risk, out of school children in southern Beirut (behind the Sport City). The TEC is currently looking for a social worker. Job Summary:   Part time position: 4  days per week from 8.00 to 4.00. Provide professional orientation to TEC last years’ students and follow-up; contact work places and organize training periods; organize conferences and workshops for parents and/or children on social or educational issues; visit families, do case management and referral if needed. Major tasks Assess last years’ students of the TEC in career orientation. Perform testing if available. Establish contact with vocational schools or programs. Organize visits to these places with students. Assist students and parents with registration in vocational schools.  Follow up students registered in vocational programs. Visit work places and set in place objectives  for trainings Organize or give conferences on social and educational issues to children and/or parents. Perform case management including home visits; develop case plans to assist families of the TEC or other families ( currently Syrian displaced families) in close coordination with the social worker of the Tahaddi Health and Community Center social worker. Maintain case history records and prepare reports and recommendations. Counsel families of students regarding specific difficulties (paper work, financial issues, abuses, domestic violence, etc.) and make referrals if needed. Provide monthly reports on the progress and effectiveness of actions made.  Performs other duties of similar nature as requested by the education center management.
