The Program Director/COO works with the CEO to help define Teach For Lebanon’s strategic direction and vision. He/she oversees TFL’s program and the organization’s operations. This is a key leadership position that is responsible to create an efficient and effective community. The COO will lead team development, culture and will be responsible to help senior department leads work collaboratively towards the organization’s vision and mission.
I – Program management
- Set and exceed ambitious program goals (i.e., size and diversity of the cohort, effectiveness of participants in leading students to measurable gains in academic achievement, alumni engagement, and leadership as a force for a change) and monitor progress to goals
- Manage and support the leaders of each program team (Recruitment, Selection, Placement, Training and Support, Alumni, Communication, and Finance)
- Facilitate the cross-team collaboration of the program teams, including ensuring alignment across teams, optimizing strategies and resource allocation across teams, and sharing best practices
II – Operations management
- Manage the organization’s budget and oversee reporting on organizational finances; ensure financial processes and systems meet governance guidelines; oversee the development and enforcement of the organization’s financial policies and procedures
- Monitor administrative systems to deliver efficient support services as required and meet the requirements of Teach For Lebanon’s contractual and stakeholder obligations
- Ensure that Teach For Lebanon works within the legal framework and policy settings for employment matters
- Manage the strategic and annual planning processes to ensure that each team has goals that align with the vision, mission, and priorities of the organization and robust strategies to deliver short-term and long-term results; conduct regular reviews to ensure that each team is executing its strategies efficiently and effectively and achieving its goals
III – Team management
- Lay the foundation for the organization’s long-term success through assembling and developing a strong team
- Build strong relationships with all staff and ensure effective collaboration across all teams
- Build development plans for senior staff members and continuously seek opportunities to enhance the productivity and capacity of the team
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in a similar leadership role in team management and development.
- Track record of managing teams to achieve results
- A highly motivated leader who excels in an entrepreneurial environment and wants to make a material impact on the education sector
- Results-oriented
- Exceptional strategic thinking, organizational, management and communications skills
Location: The chosen candidate can be based in either TFL HQ or other offices as needed. Domestic and international travel is required as part of the role.
