Community Facilitator Safe Space - Tyre

 

The Community Facilitator and PSS Facilitator is responsible with the GBV team leader for planning and  implementing the Gender Based Violence (GBV) component of a UNICEF funded project in collaboration with TDHL Case Worker and under the technical supervision and leading of a GBV TL. In particular is responsible to : Mainly outreach vulnerable girls and women (from 12-17)years.
Deliver awareness sessions on particular GBV topics and implement my safety and my wellbeing curricula (IRC curricula ) in static and mobile centers. Refer girls and women to Youth programs.

Duties & Reponsibilites:

  • Mobilize women and girls survivors or at risk of violence in the activities conducted in and around the Women and Girls Safe Space. 
  • Plan and organise awareness sessions in the villages of intervention in collaboration with key actors, partners and  municipalities, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), community members, community groups and any other stakeholder presents in the field.
  • Depending on the topic, involve protection monitors, case workers ,the psychologist, or external specialised actors, in facilitating the sessions.
  • Prepare and organise all logistic aspects for the conduct of the awareness and PSS sessions.
  • Identify and facilitate the participation of women and girls survivors or at risk of violence in the activities conducted in and around the Women and Girls Safe Space
  • Ensure that all the beneficiaries of the community programmes are received and taken care of.
  • Set up the different activities connected with the community programmes
  • Carry out home visits to beneficiaries according to the priorities
  • Plan and identify materials and any kind of support required for every intervention on weekly basis.
  • Ensure that the beneficiaries who need specific medical or nutritional care are referred to the appropriate organisation
  • Ensure the creation of positive atmosphere for the children through encourging them to express their needs and be fully engaged in the activities and ensuring their feeling of safety.
  • Participate in conducting surveysusing a range of materials, including modelling clay, plaster, oil paints, watercolours and acrylics
  • Assist in the development of new PSS methodologies or/ and new PSS M&E tools 
  • Review and adjust PSS tools to make sure the relevant, accurate and up-to-date information is always presented in accordance to Tdh and the Inter Agency guidelines
  • Suggest modifications of sessions and exercises in order to adapt to changes occuring in the work environment, based on the feedback of the caregivers and children
  • Represent Tdh in relevant PSS trainings and in the field visits at sites of intervention with donors and line managers
  • Support the identification and packaging of PSS advocacy issues
  • Deliver daily awareness sessions on GBV issues such as (sexual and reproductive health, early marriage,  and protection related issues to women and girls.
  • Provide information to women and girls and parents/caregivers on services available in the field and create the link between them and International Non-Governmental Organization (INGOs), NGOs, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and any other stakeholders present in the area and ensure that the provided supporting material is update with correct information.
  • Involve and follow-up CBOs staff(The volunteers), community members and community groups in organizing and conducting cascade awareness sessions on GBV and protection related issues in collaboration and under the supervision of the GBV TL.
  • Ensuring women and girls under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activities.
  • Ensuring the adoption of minimum standard required (ex. Women and Girls Safe Space checklist) in the centers were the activities are implemented.
  • Planning, organizing and conducting: emotional support groups and Focus Group Discussion (FGD); recreational and de-stressing activities-simple life skills development activities such as decorating chocolate and hairdresser- ad hoc curriculum for adolescent girls, such as My Safety My Wellbeing (MSMW) and Citadel of Protection.
  • Strengthening linkages between the different components of youth program interventions.
  • Identify and refer the cases at GBV risk on the base of the referral pathways adopted by TDHL
  • Follow-up CBOs staff, SDCs staff, community members  in the identification and referral of  cases at GBV risk.
  • Prepare all the necessary for the various activities well in advance, paying attention to details
  • Abide the TDHL child Protection policy, communication policy and Code of Conduct
  • Openness to working with refugees (Syrian, Palestinian, etc.) and deprived children/youth
  • Always respect of beneficiaries’ confidentiality
  • Respect and promote TDHL Policies, Prosedures and report to your line manager any non-respect of TDHL policies amongst the teams or partners
