Community Mobilizer

Job Title:                   Community Mobilizer Location:                     Saida and Tyre, Southern Lebanon   Terre des hommes Foundation (Lausanne) will begin a project entitled “Integrated Child Protection/GBV prevention, referral and psychosocial support for Children and Adolescent affected by the Syria crisis in South Lebanon”. The project is in need of one community mobilizer who will work in Tyre and Saida Qaza, also in camps and gathering of Tyre area in order to carry our community-based protection activities with children and community members.   The community mobilizer will sign and adhere to Tdh’s Child protection policy.   Specific duties and responsibilities   Community Mobilization and Empowerment The successful candidate is responsible for implementing activities related to the empowerment and mobilization of community members in project areas. The specific duties therein are to:   -       Design the content of and monitoring and evaluation tools for community awareness raising sessions in Child Protection and GBV, hygiene promotion, nutrition and health, in coordination with the Project Manager and Tdh Training and Development Department -       Organize and deliver community awareness raising events and safety audits as determined by project objectives -       Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of the community awareness raising sessions -       Coordinate with other relevant resources to ensure the delivery of further community awareness sessions on health and hygiene topics   In addition, the successful candidate will implement project activities in accordance with the Non-Violent Communication principles, the principle of neutrality, in accordance with Tdh administrative, logistics and security procedures, and will ensure proper reporting in a timely manner.   Requirements   Experience/understanding of community mobilization and empowerment work Social work understanding/experience Driver’s license Willingness to travel to the site locations Openness to working with displaced Syrian and Palestinian communities Project cycle management understanding and application Computer and communication skills Fluent Arabic Good English level (written, reading and writing)     The position will start as of November 2013.
