Child Protection Policy:
- Commit to respect the Tdh Child Protection Policy and principles of child protection.
- Commit to ensure the best implementation possible of the Tdh Child Protection Policy inLebanon.
- Commit to inform supervisors and to deal with any cases, allegations, or possibility of transgression, even potential, of the Tdh Child Protection Policy.
Main duties and responsibilities:
General:
- Promotes, facilitates and encourages the achievement of quarterly action planning objectives
- Ensures that Tdh’s project actions or activities are non biased, neutral and inclusive of all actors present, particularly in the Palestinian refugee context, with attention to the existing political and services structures of PLO and Al-Tahaluf
- Works directly in the field with children, families and stakeholders of the project locations.
- Is a Tdh focal point in the community and represents the organization professionally
- Identifies, networks and connects child protection resources to the child, community and community structures
- Supports and assists in the network mapping of resources specific to the locations he/she operates in
- Shares child protection resources and information both within the Tdh staff structure and the community he/she operates in
- Promotes and ensures the principles of child protection and child participation are respected within the Tdh project and with identified child protection resources
- Informs his/her direct supervisor about any difficulty met in TDH activities implementation
- Ensures a strict adherence to Tdh Child Protection Policy at all times, including respect for confidentiality and child centered approach, acts in the best interests of the child
Specific duties and responsibilities:
Training and Coaching:
- Responsible to develop a systematic process to facilitate the notification, requests and preparation of training programs by each department and/or individuals within Tdh which is linked to the training resource data base
- Identify, liaise, promote, facilitate, coach and when necessary deliver training to child protection resources with a view to strengthening their capacity to respond to child protection needs
- Responsible for the delivery of training reports after any training given by Tdh, in coordination with the trainers, responsible person and/or organizers
- Responsible for the design, facilitation and if needed, delivery, of the “Tdh Child Protection Training and Coaching Course”
- Responsible for the collation of the training material and training capitalization package from the “Tdh Child Protection Training and Coaching Course”
- Responsible for the development, facilitation and if needed, delivery, of individual coaching plans for each participant in the “Tdh Child Protection Training and Coach Course”
- Responsible for the construction of tools to monitor and evaluate the coaching practice and to report on a monthly basis the finding to his/her line manager
Tdh Intern Development Scheme
- Responsible for the recruitment and monitoring of interns placed within the various functions within TdhLebanon
- Responsible for the construction and monitoring of the individual intern’s learning plans and intern projects while on placement within TdhLebanon
- Responsible for the collation and record keeping of each intern’s performance history with TdhLebanon
Tdh Staff Capacity Building and Development
- Responsible, in partnership with the individual line manager, for new Tdh employees to receive the theoretical training component of the ‘Tdh Competency Based Project Induction’ process during their probation period
- Responsible for the coordination, planning and facilitation of the Tdh staff capacity building training days, which are scheduled for the 3rd Wednesday of each month
- Liaise regularly with all Tdh staff members on their training and development needs
- Prepare and apply an audit to establish the capacity building needs of all Tdh staff members in coordination with the Tdh CPO
- Prepare, develop and share the individual members capacity building plans, in coordination with the Tdh Admin and CPO.
- Responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of individual capacity building plans, preparing a report to be placed on the individual staff member’s human resource file
Training Resource Information Management
- Responsible for the construction and maintenance of a complete and extensive training resource data base, which should include at the minimum a list of training venues in and around Tyre, external training resource people/organizations, logistical support actors for training, etc…
- Responsible for coordination and construction, in partnership with Tdh managers and training resources, training packages designed to be a ‘one-stop-shop’ for individual topics and/or training themes.
- Responsible for the development of a Tdh library (electronic and hard copies) on training and coaching methodologies, practices and topics of interest to TdhLebanon
Project(s) Co-operation
- Liaise regularly with project manager(s) on the training and development needs of Tdh employees
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of community child protection awareness raising events as determined by project objectives
- Assist in the production of a referral pathway tool, clearly identifying both formal and informal child protection resources
- Assist in the project’s impact and capitalization research process as directed
- Identify and share with project managers and/or staff any resources which can assist project workers or the objectives of the project(s)
Child Protection Officer Co-operation
- Liaise regularly with the Tdh CPO on the training and development needs of Tdh employees
Case Management:
- Refers project target children and families to social workers if identified while moving or working in project sites
- Attend and participate in case management meetings
Non-Violent Communication:
- Adhere to the principles of the NVC process while in communication with all project actors, including colleagues.
- Ensure that conflict is addressed with the principles and process of NVC with all project actors and colleagues.
Project Neutrality:
- Ensures that Tdh’s project actions or activities are non biased, neutral and inclusive of all actors present in the Palestinian refugee context, with particular attention to the existing political and services structures of PLO and Al-Tahaluf
- Reports any breaches of neutrality, even if perceived but not true, to the Project Manager
- Promotes and ensures that all actors, regardless of political or non-political affiliations, are aware of Tdh’s project’s neutrality and activities with all actors in the context
Logistics:
- Adhere to Tdh policies and procedures of purchasing, delivery and quality of product
- Adhere to Tdh and donor policies and procedures to supplier quoting and stock control
- Ensure good standards of security and cleanliness are maintained in the project site offices
Administration:
- Adheres to Tdh policies and procedures of purchasing and accountability
- Adheres to Tdh policies and procedures on annual leave applications, sick leave, overtime and time taken in lieu
- Takes annual leave within the 12 month period which is planned not to reduce the coverage of staff in the field
- Adheres to Tdh staff regulations
Security:
- Ensure the timely and punctual reporting of security incidents and/or information to the Project Manager and/or Logistician
- Promote a security aware culture in the workplace
- Liaise with reliable and safe sources of security information when necessary, including humanitarian actors, community members, security forces and informed individuals
Reporting:
- Assist in the design, maintain and use data collection systems and punctual reporting to enable measurable results to prove the achievement of project objectives
- Provide reports as required and directed by the Project Manager
Requirements: in-depth understanding of child protection, a psychological academic background with at least 5 years of experience, experience in psycho-social support and recreational activities. Flexibility and close attention to details. Effective oral and written communication skills, computer literate and comfortable to work with various ethnics groups and nationalities inside and outside the organization. Valid driving license since at least one year
