Case Management Specialist

Terre des Hommes Italia is looking to hire a Case Management Specialist to work on a case management project in North Bekaa. The new project of Terre des Hommes Italy (TDH IT) aims at providing Child Protection case management service in the North-Bekaa. Moving from the established TDH community centers of Arsal and Jdejde, 2 mobile teams composed by 3 caseworkers each, the intervention is designed following up the needs observed within the TDH operational areas over the past 3 years. Survival sex, domestic violence, violence in schools, neglect and lack of access to services, child labor, children with disabilities, children showing PS distress, unaccompanied or separated children, denial of humanitarian access to children are the main problematic issues that the project intend to address trough individual case management. The Project is developed in strict coordination with the Child Protection and Psychosocial activities developed by Terre des Hommes Italia in the North of the Bekaa, through the collaboration with municipalities, local and refugee communities and MOSA in 6 centers (including Community Centers and SDSs) and in outreach.   Tasks and responsibilities Under the supervision and direction of the CP program manager, the CM Specialist of the Child Protection Case Management team is in charge of organizing, planning and monitoring of the Case Manager’s work in the CP project in North Bekaa.   The Case Management Specialist will be responsible: -       Organizing case work and case management interventions within Terre des Hommes – Italy’s child protection program in North Bekaa in collaboration with the Case Manager/Psychologist, -       Strengthening a systemic response to identified major child protection issues among emergency affected population groups in Lebanon. -       Ensuring the full compliance with the Practical Guidance for Child Protection Case Management Services in the Emergency Response, SOPs, Alternative Care in Emergencies (ACE) and Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS). -       Ensuring that TDH IT Lebanon's work in this sector is fully aligned with the inter-agency approaches and tools/SOPs developed by the Child Protection in Emergency Working Group (UNHCR-UNICEF-MOSA) and its Case Management sub-working group. -       Liaise and collaborate with other CM actors. -       Contributing to the Child Protection (CP) system strengthening work led by the Ministry of Social Affairs. -       Building the capacity of a local Case Managers and social workers, conduct training for caseworkers and social workers.   Required Profile   Education / Training Master’s Degree Field of Education, Social Sciences, or Social Work Vulnerability assessment, GBV, and CP case management is an asset Experience in child protection or protection is an asset Security and hostile environment trainings are a target   Professional experience At least 3 years of professional work experience at national levels in fields relevant to child protection, proven technical expertise in case management required. Demonstrable understanding of humanitarian response, coordination mechanisms, humanitarian reform and action. Substantial experience in emergency and post-crisis environments Strong experience in community based protection activities and Protection case management Experience in the implementation of Case Management guidelines   Knowledge & skills and Required Personal Characteristics (fitting into team, suitability for the job and assignment/mission) Ability to formulate strategic documents for programming, engagement, and coordination involving organizations and Government. Experience in and knowledge of Syria situation and response is considered a strong asset. High-level communication skills, including ability to speak formally, negotiate, demonstrate tact and diplomacy, and advocate for child protection issues with humanitarian community and authorities. Demonstrated experience in building capacity of teams and staff. Fluency in English, and  Arabic. Commitment to the aims, principles and values of TDH IT. Ability to work well in a team and under pressure and in response to changing needs. Ability to plan well, set own targets and meet them. Ability to deal with difficult, often frustrating work situations A very high sense of discretion and integrity when dealing with child protection cases High degree of responsibility, initiative, emotional stability, the ability to prioritize a heavy workload and to delegate accordingly, culturally sensitive Professional attitude and the ability to build successful working relationships Excellent command in writing and editing documents in English and Arabic Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to the needs of the team and organization Strong commitment to support/develop capacity of local staff Team player Problem solving and leadership skills
