Case Management Specialist (Unicef 2017 Pca)

Job overview: Under the supervision of the Program Manager and in collaboration with the CP expert, the CM Specialist is in charge of contextualizing the TDH IT case management system, technically supporting the CM team and in developing their capacities in case management and child protection.  Major Responsibilities: The Case Management Specialist, in collaboration with CP expert, will be responsible of: -       Developing internal SOPs in accordance with CM National SoPs; -       Ensuring the full compliance with the National CM SOPs, referral mechanism, the Practical Guidance for Child Protection Case Management Services in the Emergency Response, Interagency Guidelines for Case Management and Child Protection, Alternative Care in Emergencies (ACE) and Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS); -       Ensuring that the internal referral mechanism is in place in each area of intervention; -       Ensuring that TDH IT Lebanon's work in this sector is fully aligned with the inter-agency approaches and tools/SOPs developed by the Child Protection in Emergency Working Group (UNHCR-UNICEF-MOSA) and its Case Management sub-working group -       Contributing to the Child Protection (CP) system strengthening work led by the Ministry of Social Affair -       Technically supporting the CM teams and developing capacity building plan in close collaboration with the CM Supervisors and the area Project Managers (Mount Lebanon and Bekaa); -       Building the capacity of the CM team on case management and child protection; -       Support the CP Expert and Officers in strengthen and developing the capacity of TDH IT staff and local on CP topics; -       Technically supporting the CM Supervisors in coordinating the teams of case workers; -       Technically supporting the CM teams in dealing with high risk child protection cases and provide them with the needed support; -       Facilitate and attend case conferences for complex cases. Ensure case conferences are called involving relevant stakeholders -       Provide individual and group supervision to the CM teams; -       Conducting field visits to monitor the quality of the service provided by the staff; -       Support the M&E Coordinator in designing monitoring and evaluation tools; -       Support in developing monthly, quarterly and final reports as required by the donors and the HQ; -       Promote strategies of self-care; -       Liaising and coordinating with other CM actors;  Other duties Collaborate closely with the CM Supervisors; Regularly attend CP WG and case management meetings (CM task force) at national level; Other duties as assigned by the CM project manager Maintains the highest standards of professional conduct   Key Working Relationships:  Position Reports to:  Programme Manager Technical reference/Indirect Reporting: CP Expert Collaborates with: CM Supervisors Other Internal and/or external contacts: Internal: other members of the Case Management team and members from other TDH IT programs in the field   External: local partner –Other NGOs/INGOs   Required Profile:  Education / Training Master’s Degree in the field of Behavioural and Social Sciences (e.g. Clinical Psychology), preferable in Social Work Trained and well knowledgeable of Interagency Guidelines for Case Management and Child Protection (National CM SOPs mandatory), vulnerability assessment; Trainings on GBV response is a plus; Security and hostile environment are a plus;  Professional experience At least 3 years of professional work experience at national level in the field of case management, proven experience in child protection is required. Demonstrable understanding of humanitarian response, coordination mechanisms, humanitarian reform and action. Substantial experience in emergency and post-crisis environments Strong experience in community based protection activities  Knowledge & skills and Required Personal Characteristics (fitting into team, suitability for the job and assignment/mission) Willing to travel often among the two areas of coverage (Mount Lebanon and Bekaa). Driving license required Ability to formulate strategic documents for programming, engagement, and coordination involving organizations and Government. Experience in and knowledge of the Syrian situation and response is considered a strong asset. High-level of communication skills, including ability to speak formally, negotiate, demonstrate tact and diplomacy, and advocate for child protection issues with humanitarian community and authorities. Experience in building capacity of teams and staff. Fluency in English, and Arabic. Commitment to the aims, principles and values of TDH IT. Ability to work well in a team, under pressure and in response to changing needs. Ability to deal with difficult, often frustrating work situations A very high sense of discretion and integrity when dealing with child protection cases High degree of responsibility, of taking initiatives, of having emotional stability, The ability to prioritize a heavy workload and to delegate accordingly, and under culturally sensitive situations Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to the needs of the team and organization Strong commitment to support/develop capacity of local staff Team player/leader Problem solving and leadership skills
