Center Child Protection Focal Point

  • With the support of the Senior Child Protection in Education Officer, design based on identified needs at the center level, child protection activities targeting children with a high level of vulnerability;
  • Deliver regular psychosocial support activities (structured recreational activities, focused PSS) to vulnerable children attending education activities, including materials preparation beforehand;
  • Design and deliver awareness sessions for children and caregivers (child protection risks, education, nutrition, hygiene awareness), with the support of the Centre Education Focal Point;
  • With the support of the Centre Education focal point and Centre Coordinator, organize and deliver educational recreational and social cohesion activities for children and caregivers;
  • Ensure that all recreational and PSS activities are in line with TDH IT and Child Protection minimum standards;
  • To ensure that the beneficiaries have the possibility to participate in designing the activity, in order to express themselves and to be heard; support TDH’s accountability to beneficiaries by helping to organize regular focus groups and feedback sessions;
  • To ensure that the beneficiaries are all involved in the activity and that there is possibility for boys and girls to work together and that children with diverse needs are included and supported equally;
  • In coordination with teachers, Centre Coordinator and Centre Education focal point, develop a detailed weekly activity plan, indicating specifically the aim and the objectives of the activities and to closely monitor results achieved with the beneficiaries;
  • To follow TDH IT procedures regarding the documentation of the activities (assessments, attendance, progress follow up, regular reports;
  • Monitor children during recess times, and before and after activities; support in the distribution of snacks and water;
  • To monitor the child’s progresses, and to identify children in need and refer special cases to the case management team as soon as identified;
  • Provide extra support to children expressing difficult behaviors (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion);
  • Report weekly recreational activity progress to the Centre Coordinator and Senior Child Protection Officer as a contribution to the weekly center report;
  • Support the children to embark/disembark buses that are transporting them to the center;
  • To participate in the trainings provided by TDH IT and ensure that this learning is applied to the education program at center level;
  • To comply with the TDH IT CP Policy & Code of Conduct;
  • Any other duty assigned by your Line Manager.
