Child Protection And Security Officer

-Undertake analyses and needs assessments related to child protection- Prioritise child protection issues and design prevention and response programmes and initiatives- Provide technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of child protection plans - Develop monitoring and reporting mechanisms on a variety of levels eg. formal data collection for advocacy, qualitative measures for programme development, information for donor reports, etc. - Make frequent field visits to affected areas to monitor implementation of activities, identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed including additional staffing or staff training. Hold planning and progress review meetings with government counterparts and other relevant partners. - Represent the agency/organisation in meetings with government officials and other actors, to advocate and promote programme goals and objectives, and communicate with major partners on policies. - Identify potential partnerships to implement programmes, make recommendations on how to fill gaps. - Liaise with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies/donors to ensure coordination, implementation of common standards in the field and consideration of protection issues in assistance programs. - Develop training programmes and assist in capacity building for staff and partners in security and child protection issues. - Supervise the work of field staff related to child protection and security issues.- Knowledge of security procedures (related experience is an asset).- Advice and support TdH-Italy Staff in Lebanon on all safety and security aspects of and contribute to the fulfillment of the objectives of the Tdh-Italy Child Protection Strategy.- Guide, adapt, and monitor implementation of security procedures and regulations.- Support in providing updated strategic analysis of local political, social and/or military context, analyze, and assess possible development and impact on current and new TdH-Italy operations and environment.- Support the program staff in planning and implementing risk mitigation strategies (acceptance, deterrence, protection) in order to improve access.- Participate in, and support existing humanitarian sector security coordination and collaboration mechanisms

-University Degree in humanitarian affairs, social science, law, development studies or relevant field.
-At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian affairs, human rights, child protection, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief or rehabilitation or other related area with a minimum of 1 year experience in emergency response or humanitarian relief context (though experience in a development context is also highly regarded).
- Basic Security management education in the form of workshops or seminars
- Experience in liaising with communities, civilians, police and/or military government authorities as well as with regional institutions preferable
- Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic
- Able to work in unstable, uncertain or potentially dangerous environments, independently and in a team.
- Strong cross-cultural communication and resilience skills are very important.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
- Average computer literacy
- Holder of a valid driver’s license
